TLDR: deceptive practices, adding fees after agreeing to a price and run arounds This dealer has a listing on cargurus.com for a 2019 BMW X1 for $18,600, which would be a great price. However, the deception starts there, as when you go to their website, it has that as a “finance price”, so the real price with $1,995 down would be $20,599. I made an appointment on Friday and arrived shortly before 11AM. (Note: it’s terrible finding parking, and their lot is full, no parking), I was greeted by Emre who told me the car is not there, and we had to drive to another lot. That pissed me off a bit as isn’t that part of making an appt that the car “is actually there and ready”? Alas. The car was really nice and we completed our test drive. After we got back, I chatted with Emre. I said I was interested but wanted to make sure I could have the car for an independent PPI. That was not possible. I could only have a mechanic come by and look at the car on the lot. I asked about the out the door

Salesman is good. Financial not so much.

Sales reached out within a few hours and provided needed items for comparison.

They answered quickly the vehicle was gone I appreciated that

I expressed clear interest in purchasing this vehicle and informed the dealership that I was not receiving text messages, and we had to speak through email or phone. (very frustrating. Despite this, I was required to initiate all follow-up communication myself. Ultimately, the vehicle was sold without meaningful engagement or updates. The experience gave the impression that my interest was not taken seriously.

The staff were great. However, they wanted to apply a DOCUMENTARY FEE of $799 to the purchase price, in addition to tax and registration. This fee was never discussed, which makes the stated purchase price higher than advertised. I consider this to be deceptive. Taxes and registration fees are a given, but you should expect the advertised price to be the price that you could buy the car for. Also, I told them over the phone that I had an older, classic car I wanted to trade. They had ther VIN # and the mileage in advance. They asked me to bring the car in and then said it was too old.
