VW only made 250,000 of these in ten years. They were only imported to the US for two years: 1973 & 1974. They have a 1600cc air cooled engine. They are a blast to drive!! And everywhere you go, people ask questions!

working with my Grandfather over the years how i got paid was never clear. after finishing up a job the lady asked if we would be interested in a car as part of the payment. of course my grandfather said lets look at it. and as we entered the barn we see a mint looking 1971 Volkswagan Thing. As you expected we jumped on that deal. got it home and loaded in the Garage to work on the engine.

I love this car!It has no heat, its like driving a tent on top of a dumpster, and the guages are shakey at best. But you would have to spend $10.000 more to find a car that grabs this much attenion.
