The Triumph TR6 is celebrated for its stunning looks and engaging driving experience. Owners appreciate its powerful performance, captivating sound, and excellent handling, making it a delight on the road. However, some drivers mention reliability issues and the car's need for frequent maintenance due to its age, which can detract from the overall enjoyment. The TR6 remains a classic favorite for those who value style and the fun of a spirited drive.

Bought a used one in 1984. First thing necessary was to rebuild the entire engine. Then it was a constant parade of repairs on Carbs, brake and clutch hydraulics, front end suspension parts, cooling system, interior, convertible top...the list goes on and on. Performance is excellent. Handling is excellent, Brakes are superb. Appearance is outstanding...looks like a true sports car should. Rattles and squeaks like all British cars do, but who cares? Driving this car is the most fun I've ever had in any car. All the inherent problems with British cars seem non-important compared to the fun of driving this British roadster.
I liked the looks of the car a lot. It had great styling and the convertable top was awesome on cool fall days. The motor had plenty of torque to pull you along. It was a great car for cruising around town.
The appearance, handling, torque and sound of these cars is superb. When brought back to proper condition they are very reliable and can be driven anywhere. They are easy to maintain and parts are readily available. The Lucas electricals get a bum rap but are as good as any other electrical system of the era. There are many modern upgrade available that help improve their reliability and performance.
A fabulous, proper sports car. A really good classic. A bit squeaky, not brilliant at cornering but the acceleration was fab. You sit low so it feels like you are faster than you really are. Get the top down on a rare sunny day and it is just fantastic. Needs to be driven not kept in a garage and brought out once a year, get it out there!
car is tight, ok for a 6 footer , not much will fit in the boot. parts are still relatively inexpensive and the car is very simple. Most diy'ers can maintain themselves. I own several of them and own my first one for over 25 years
