| Model Year | Accident-Free % |
|---|---|
| 2026 | 98.7% |

Key things to evaluate:
- Safety package: adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and the federally mandated reversing camera
- Infotainment: Porsche Communication Management (PCM) with a 10.9-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay, SiriusXM satellite radio, a navigation system, and connected services
- Fuel efficiency: 19 mpg and 25 mpg
Which Porsche Macan trim should I buy?

- Macan S: twin-turbo 2.9-liter V6 with 375 hp and 383 lb-ft, plus newly standard Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) adaptive damping suspension; the best-value trim for many buyers
- Macan GTS: 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 with 434 hp and 406 lb-ft, carrying the high-output powertrain from the former Turbo
What Porsche Macan do most buyers choose?
The Porsche Macan years with the most listings are 2025, 2026, and 2024.
| Model Year | Total Listings | Good + Great Deals % |
|---|---|---|
| 2025 | 3,124 | 31.7% |
| 2026 | 2,524 | 31.7% |
| 2024 | 1,979 | 35.1% |
| 2023 | 1,731 | 35.2% |
| 2022 | 1,493 | 37.4% |
| 2017 | 1,180 | 31.6% |
Higher-volume years usually draw more shoppers because they offer a wider selection of examples and more recent features. That combination often makes them the easiest years to compare side by side when you're shopping used.
What is the Porsche Macan's resale value?
| Model Year | Current Avg. Price | Year-Over-Year Change |
|---|---|---|
| 2018 | $21,532 | −13.85% |
| 2017 | $19,302 | −13.01% |
| 2019 | $26,151 | −11.6% |
| 2024 | $56,139 | −11.41% |
| 2015 | $15,968 | −11.21% |
| 2016 | $17,507 | −11.19% |
| 2023 | $49,358 | −10.41% |
| 2020 | $30,914 | −10.2% |
| 2021 | $36,625 | −8.51% |
| 2022 | $45,034 | −7.96% |
| 2025 | $66,197 | −4.7% |
Most Macan model years are down year over year, which can create better opportunities for used buyers. The steepest drops are in the older and mid-cycle years, while the newest model years are falling by smaller amounts. That pattern suggests you may find stronger value in recent used examples without paying the newest-model premium.
The 2025, 2022, and 2021 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.
Is the Porsche Macan safe?
- 2022: 4/10
Every 2022 Porsche Macan has adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and the federally mandated reversing camera.
Should I buy a used Porsche Macan now or wait for the next model?
Buy now if:
- Price trend: The 2025 model is at −4.7% versus a year ago, and the 2024 model is at −11.41%.
- Deal availability: The 2025 model has 31.7% good and great deals, and the 2024 model has 35.1%.
- Sweet-spot year: The 2025 model has the most listings at a current average price of $66,197. The Porsche Macan offers a sporty, premium driving character that has long been central to its appeal.
Consider waiting if:
- Powertrain/efficiency: Base Macans have a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine making 261 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, while the Macan GTS inherits the 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 from the old Macan Turbo with 434 hp and 406 lb-ft.
- Tech: Porsche equips every 2022 Macan with a 10.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system it calls Porsche Communication Management (PCM), and PCM includes wireless Apple CarPlay, SiriusXM satellite radio, a navigation system, and connected services.
- Safety: Every 2022 Porsche Macan has adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and the federally mandated reversing camera.
- Starting price: Our evaluation vehicle was a Macan S with extra equipment that brought the as-tested Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $87,670 including the $1,450 destination charge.
If you're buying used today, the 2025 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.

It's a fantastic car. It's practical to use, unlike a sports car, exceptionally comfortable for long trips, and when you push the go pedal down, things get exciting quickly.

CarGurus recommends the 2025 Porsche Macan
Summary
With 3,185 currently listed for sale and an average price of $66,358, 33.5% of 2025 Porsche Macan listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.

Why it stands out
The 2025 Porsche Macan stands out as a compact SUV that leans hard into Porsche’s sporty character without giving up the premium feel buyers expect from the brand. It has all-wheel drive and a seven-speed PDK dual-clutch automatic transmission, and its reputation is built on being fast and fun to drive rather than merely practical. That focus comes with tradeoffs: the Macan’s sleek shape leaves it less spacious inside than some rivals, and higher-powered versions are noted for low mpg.
What also makes the 2025 Macan appealing is how well equipped it is and how much of its personality comes through in the details. Standard equipment has grown over time, and since the 2022 model year update all versions have had LED headlights and Apple CarPlay compatibility as standard. The Macan also offers a high-quality interior, a good reliability record, and a wide range of options and option packs, including air suspension, ceramic brakes, a panoramic roof, a Burmester premium audio system, and the Sport Chrono Package. Those choices let buyers tailor the SUV’s look, feel, and driving character, which is a big part of its appeal.
At the same time, the 2025 Macan is starting to feel dated compared with some rivals, even though it remains one of the best-driving compact luxury SUVs. It is a strong choice for buyers who value performance, a premium cabin, and Porsche character more than maximum space or the newest design.
