Nissan Stanza Overview
From 1982 to 1992, the Nissan Stanza was the auto maker's compact car, until it was replaced by the Nissan Altima. Its predecessor was the Datsun 510.
The Stanza came in a number of body styles, including a sedan, wagon, and hatchback.
Though the Stanza was discontinued in most export markets by 1986, it continued to be sold in the US. However, it was criticized for being too heavy and slow. The styling was also outdated.
By 1990, the Stanza was completely replaced by the car known as the Bluebird overseas, although it retained the Stanza name. The Stanza manged to eek out one more year in name only in the first Altima, which was officially named the Altima Stanza. By 1994, however, the Stanza had disappeared from the Nissan lineup completely.

The Nissan Stanza has been appreciated by many owners for its affordability, reliability, and nostalgic appeal. Across various model years, drivers commonly mentioned the sturdy performance and fuel efficiency, making it a dependable choice over the years. However, there are complaints regarding engine stalling, particularly related to transmission issues and air conditioning. Overall, the Stanza is seen as a solid vehicle for those seeking a budget-friendly and reliable ride.

AFTER 26 YEARS OF DEPENDENCY: I can't give it up. Even after getting a van with a lift. It's still easier to jump in and out of the Nissan, than to get out of the seat in the van. The 4 speed auto trans works great for power and overdrive for economy. With routine maintenance, it just keeps on rolling. Like me!
This was a great Project Car. Was a great Club level Rallycar that doubled as a great 2nd family car when required.
Crazy Fast with a nice interior and engine/powertrain (ka24e). It takes turns like it is on rails, and the e brake is pretty fun... Its definitely not the best styled car, but there are a lot of aftermarket parts available.
I love my Nissan Stanza - it is the first car I have ever owned, and for the price I paid for it, it has served me well. I do however have problems with stalling, when engine is hot.
Bought this used in '94 and it's been the best car I've owned. I've yet to replace a muffler after all these years and only had to replace the flex pipe. I've just read on the reviews that there were complaints about these cars being bulky and slow but I beg to differ on this. True they are bulky but the 2.4L 4 cylinder engine had plenty of pep for me and even my mechanic and friends couldn't believe this car only had a 4 banger in it. The car is starting to show it's age but that's expected for a 15year old vehicle.
