I personally love the design of the vehicle, it still has a commanding presence today. One could go on long trips and feel as fresh as when you left home, as well as having the peace of mind that goes with Mercedes Benz safety and handling. Even at it's age there are no rattles or squeaks and visibility is excellent! As far as maintenance goes, I always liked to do my own work and this vehicle has cost very little as far as spares go. The rear disk pads were only changed after 250,000 Km. Although it is quite heavy, the size of engine is more than enough to power the car with ease As far as braking is concerned, it is eyeball popping under heavy stopping. (excuse the rhyme)

I believe this car is one of the best that Mercedes has ever made. It is incredibly advanced for its age. Everything is electric, disc brakes all around, and A/C. Plus, the beauty of the car is something else.

A classic in design by a french man of couse. possiblly one of the last cars built to a level of quality not cost. Features 4 speed auto.aircon, electronic fuel injection (bosch) disks all round, IRS double wishbone front end. A fantastic M110 motor with twin cams and and a very respectable 185 HP not bad for 1973. My car is in the resore stage, no rust and I have just finished the engine rebuild and front subframe refit. should be on the road mid 2011.

Wonderful car for it's age! 4 WHEEL Power DISC brakes! power steering! 4 Wheel independent suspension with rear wheel drive! Intermittent wipers, child locks, heated rear window, 4 speed auto transmission, electronic fuel injection...fog lights...Also this is the first car ever to have 3 point seatbelts! It even had front & rear crumple zones for crashes! Way ahead of it's time, a great example of german engineering and pioneering. This car is very high speed stable granted you find one who's suspension isn't old and worn out. This car was made to do 120mph all day back in 1971 and still be able to do an emergency lane change at that speed with very little body roll. They suck gas but the acceleration if you get the one with EFI is half way decent, especially for such a heavy car.
