I’ve owned my Q60RS for about a year and a half as of writing this. It’s safe to say that, I really, REALLY like this car. It’s got a perfect mix of mid 2010’s technology combined with all the premier engineering from the Nissan 370z and the Nissan GT-R. The Q60RS in AWD feels light, easy to drive, easy to control, and is so family friendly that once you kick it into Sport and Sport+, you hardly remember that the twin-turbo V6 hiding under the hood is still an absolute monster to be tamed. The car does have its downsides - it’s VERY persistent about warnings and issues that otherwise wouldn’t matter, such as front camera sensors not being available or an occasional check engine light even if nothing is wrong under the hood. Maybe that’s just with my Q60. The car is also a little bit towards the bottom of its league compared to other options in its MSRP price range - namely the 981 Porsche Cayman, the S197-II and S550-I / S550-II Ford Mustang lineup, the Gen 6 Camaro SS, etc. For a $50K-$60K car, I would expect it to be pretty fast if not luxurious - and while the car is both fast and luxurious, it could definitely prove itself a little more in the top speed game. Back in the 2000’s, 400 Horsepower was enough to get you up to 160 - 180MPH range, and by the early 2010’s, that was fairly default (as seen with the 2008 - 2012 Dodge Charger SRT-8, 2007 - 2012 Porsche 911 lineup ((997.1 and 997.2, etc))). This car packs 400 Horsepower exact, but only tops out around 155 Miles an Hour - I’m fairly certain that even the 370Z Nismo marks around that top speed. Regardless of its issues, the car is still an amazing drive - and if you can find one for the right price, I’d definitely recommend going for it. It’s the perfect entry level performance car for the prices it comes around in now (I purchased mine for around $25K @ around 89K Miles - most Q60RS range between $27K - $40K depending on mileage and condition). So, if you’re looking for something thats on par with some of the more popular sports cars of the mid 2010’s, this is definitely a go to!

About the INFINITI Q60
The Q60 is a four-passenger luxury sports car produced by Infiniti from 2014 until 2022. Previously known as the Infiniti G, the lineup was a carryover model in 2014 during the automaker’s corporate rebranding. No significant vehicle changes were made except for dropping the G Series name. The two-door was rebadged as the Q60; the sedan became the Q50. The Q60 was initially available as a convertible and coupe. However, the Q60 convertible, which featured a retractable hardtop, was discontinued after the 2015 model year. The Q60 coupe was completely redesigned in 2017.
What are the advantages of the INFINITI Q60?
Like its predecessor, the Q60 was known for its sultry design, powerful V6 engines, and smooth ride quality. All Q60 trims featured standard rear-wheel drive (RWD) but could be optioned with all-wheel drive (AWD). Also, prior to the redesign, automatic and manual transmissions were offered. Infiniti later elevated its Q60 offerings by updating the interior, including more standard technology features, adding a high-performance Red Sport 400 variant, and maintaining a value-oriented price.
What is the best INFINITI Q60 model year?
The 2015 Q60 has the highest reliability rating of all the model years but, ironically, also has the most drawbacks with its cramped rear seats, small trunk, and dated interior styling. Infiniti Q60s from model years 2020 and later are considered better used-car options. By then, the Q60 interior was greatly updated, the infotainment features improved, the engines were more refined, and advanced safety features readily available.
What are the disadvantages of the INFINITI Q60?
Sports coupes are not known for having spacious cabins, even with just two seats. The Q60, on the other hand, had seating for four occupants. While its sleek, athletic profile was easy on the eyes, rear visibility was limited. In general, the Q60 cabin was a tight squeeze for everyone, especially rear-seat passengers. Cargo space was also surprisingly small compared to other two-door rivals. The Q60 infotainment system was another point of contention, having received poor marks for lacking some basic features and being unintuitive to use.
Comparison: Is the INFINITI Q60 better than the INFINITI Q50?
The Q60 and Q50 are essentially fraternal twins, but there is little infighting as the two models target different demographics. Both offer similar-looking sculpted exteriors, powerful twin-turbo V6s, upscale interiors, and identical safety features. And yet, the four-passenger Q60 is a two-door coupe with a focus on sport-tuned handling, performance, and fun, while the five-passenger Q50 is a four-door sedan that offers better fuel economy, is much more spacious, and is outfitted with a few more luxury features. The Q50 starting price is slightly higher than the Q60 price, but a few hundred bucks are negligible if you like the styling of the Q60 but prefer a roomier interior and improved mpg.
Is the INFINITI Q60 a reliable car?
There are no predicted long-term reliability scores available for the Q60, but its lineup sibling, the Q50, is given an above-average grade. The Q60 was the subject of five safety recalls during its lifetime. Two were mechanical issues (e.g., possible engine stall due to engine software), and three were safety specific (e.g., inoperable backup camera display, rear seat belt not locking properly).
Is the INFINITI Q60 worth the cost?
Owners have generally been happy with their Q60 purchases, particularly for its stunning design and commendable handling. Compared to European rivals, though, and the Q60 falls short on overall driving engagement, interior space, and advanced technology features. But for those looking for a stylish, performance-oriented coupe at a reasonable price, the Q60 is worth consideration.
