I have owned around 5 Imps, although only 3 were in a drivable state. The Imp is a monocoque design rear engined rear wheel drive small family saloon/hatchback. I say saloon/hatchback as it's neither one or the other as it does have an opening rear window for a little storage the main 'boot' is in the front over the petrol tank. The Imps all alloy engine is amazingly lively and people are often suprised to here its less than one litre (875cc in standard spec). Handling is amazing! Get yourself on some twisty country roads if you get one of there and prepare for a lot of fun!!!

For a car with an 875cc engine this is hard to beat , quicker than a mini off the line and with a higher top speed , 81mph !

First car I bought for 50 quid in 1977. More on the repair ramp than on the road. All spares bought from scapyard so really cheap. Great fun to drive when it worked and not too dangerous for the teenage driver

0-60 in about 3 weeks, Handles like a scaelextric car, either goes well, or goes off!!! All in all, what a fantastic first race car :D Maintenance needed, definately disc brake coversion on the fronts at least (£120 from Colon Valentine) and lowered springs (£130 all round) Uses hardly any fuel at all, even when its being ragged to bits... Interior on standard ones are as you would expect from a car of the 60s, but race preped, all that is inside is rollcage, seat, and steering wheel.
