The Hillman is a beast! It's a gem keeping in mind it is a British car :-p I saved this baby from a teenage boy who had pulled it to pieces and then tried to put it back together again. It was all back to front and inside out; however I'm slowly putting it back together. Slowly is the key as I am a student so money is sparse and parts are few and far between; usually they're in some old dudes backyard and he'll be rather reluctant to part with them, "just in case". The best thing about my car? It has just over 30000k on the clock!! AND I have the original ownership papers to prove it. It has a 1725cc original engine with extractors and a double throated carby; wee tridents and fat tyres. I've had two small bits of rust removed - you'd never pick where (Green Island Panel Beaters are AMAZING)!! Apart from that the body is pretty sound; one small dint removed and a piece of chrome replaced and she will be mint. On the other hand, the interior tells a story of many owners with lots of different plans - however it is still reasonably tidy - just in dire need of TLC. A wildcat racing steering wheel and sun roof added by a previous owner gives it even more character and of course, makes it fun to drive! Overall I am happy with my hunter, it goes like a rocket and hasn't yet caused any major issues; it isn't a Ford Escort (my favourite) but it has defiantly won a place in my heart!!

performance - even for it s time it was not earth shattering good puller tough favourite of farmers al over Ireland build of steel heavy which affected power and handling but rugged and could take abuse exterior was drab 3 boxes very squared inside quite nice with leather seats and walnut trim heavy on juice part of the reason it didn't survive the oil crisis I enjoyed it I loved the rugged feel and the boxy shape
