SSRs are very unique. The 2005 and 2006 models are the most desirable as they have the 395 HP LS2 Corvette engine. This is a 7,116 original miles car and it is near perfect.

I have owned two 2005 SSRs w/6 speed transmissions, thats the only item missing on this one. Only 2,300+or- SSRs were made with the manual transmissions. Since this model was only produced from03-06, parts can be difficult to find. Upside is the rarity of a pickup truck w/ a convertible hardtop. Fun 4 two, on fair weather days!!! JoeD.

I have a 2006 SSR & love it. I sold a 2001 Mercedes 500 SL & a 1995 Corvette & kept my SSR it rides great, carves a corner like a steak knife & runs like a bat out of hell & is the coolest vehicle I have ever owned. It is so fun to drive this thing top up or top down its a blast. My wife & I have taken it on several long vacations & enjoy it more every trip,Plus we have enough room in the bed to haul all the luggage or souvenirs we want. We hated taking the Corvette or the Mercedes on vacations because of the limited space in the back. The corvette had room for a duffel bag & 2 small suit cases . The Mercedes had a little more room but still no room if you wanted to take a suit bag or dresss The SSR has room for a Suit/Dress bag 2 duffell bags 2 suit cases a couple of folding chairs Plus a hail protector that covers the SSR if you arr caught in a hail storm. Traveling is so much easier in this.

Overview
Remember the El Camino? Remember when it went away? Well, Chevy brought an offshoot of it back in 2003 for a stay of 4 production years. The SSR didn't have a great run, but it did have its fans.
The Chevrolet SSR is a confusing vehicle. Is it a convertible pickup? A convertible sedan on a pickup platform? Whatever it is, it's based on the TrailBlazer platform and shaped more or less like a convertible. It's a car! It's a truck! Perhaps the SSR was designed and marketed to appeal to those customers who couldn't make up their minds.
