New & Used 2026 RAM 1500 for Sale nearGothenburg, NE

Is the 2026 RAM 1500 a good car?

Generally — the 4/5 user rating and 8.00/10 expert rating point to a truck that lands well with shoppers who want a full-size pickup with personality and flexibility. The model scores 9/10 across Performance and Technology.

Ram’s own positioning makes the appeal clear: the 2026 RAM 1500 brings back the Hemi V8, adds a characterful engine choice, and still gives you a wide range of configurations with multiple trim levels, cab sizes, bed lengths, and powertrains. That makes it a strong fit if you want a truck you can tailor to work, daily driving, or a more premium setup.

The trade-offs are just as clear. The Hemi is not the most powerful or most efficient engine in the lineup, and advanced safety features are not standard. There’s also no base two-door work truck.

With 33.7% of listings priced as good or great deals, you have a moderate amount of market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2026 RAM 1500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2026 RAM 1500 is built around a familiar full-size-truck formula, and the expert evaluation emphasizes that the Hemi V8 is smooth and delivers plenty of power for getting this pickup up to speed. Ram also gives you multiple engine choices, which can help you match the truck more closely to your needs instead of overbuying capability you won’t use.

There’s also a small ownership perk in the cost-effectiveness notes: Ram includes a trial period for the Hands-Free Active Driving Assist package.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is choosing a truck whose equipment level or engine choice doesn’t match how you actually plan to use it.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 RAM 1500?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re shopping for a higher-trim truck or one with more complex equipment. Focus on condition, maintenance records, and whether the truck’s configuration matches your towing, commuting, or family-hauling needs.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Tradesman models are the most basic, with cloth seats and lots of plastic trim, while higher trims add more upscale materials such as leather, open-pore wood, and high-end leather surfaces. Lower-end models also wear blacked-out grilles, while upper trims get more distinctive chrome treatments.
• Powertrain: The lineup includes a 3.6-liter V6 with eTorque, a 5.7-liter Hemi V8 with eTorque, a standard-output 3.0-liter Hurricane twin-turbo inline-six, and a high-output Hurricane inline-six. The Hemi brings character, but the turbo sixes deliver more power, and the standard-output version also brings better fuel economy.
• Safety package: Adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, blind-spot monitoring with trailer coverage, and rear cross traffic alert are standard. Evasive Steer Assist, Intersection Collision Warning, and traffic sign recognition are standard on Tungsten and available on other models through option packages.
• Infotainment: Uconnect 5 comes standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Screen setups vary by trim, with base Tradesman models getting a small 3.5-inch driver display, while most trucks use a 7-inch or 12-inch digital display. A 10.25-inch passenger screen is optional on mid- and upper-grade models, and wireless charging is available.
• Fuel efficiency: The standard-output Hurricane inline-six delivers superior fuel economy, by just two additional mpg in a four-wheel-drive truck, and the Hemi uses mid-grade fuel while the turbo six runs on regular gasoline.

Which 2026 RAM 1500 trim should I buy?

The 2026 RAM 1500 is offered in 10 trim levels: Tradesman, Express, Warlock, Big Horn, Laramie, Rebel, RHO, Limited, Limited Longhorn, Tungsten.

Here's the short version:

• Tradesman: This is the work-focused starting point, with cloth seats, lots of plastic trim, a six-speaker audio system, and the small 3.5-inch driver display. It makes sense if you want the lowest entry price and don’t need much luxury.
• Express: This trim keeps the simpler, lower-end approach and also gets the six-speaker audio system and blacked-out grille treatment. It suits you if you want a straightforward truck without moving far up the price ladder.
• Warlock: Like the other lower-end trims, it uses a blacked-out grille and the six-speaker audio system. It’s a good fit if you want a more styled entry-level truck without jumping to a premium cabin.
• Big Horn: This is the first trim that feels like a meaningful step up, with more visual polish inside and a chrome grille. It’s the best-value choice for many buyers because it adds style without going all the way to luxury pricing.
• Laramie: You get leather, a smarter cabin, and access to the Harman Kardon 19-speaker audio system. Choose this if you want a more upscale daily driver.
• Rebel: This trim is part of the off-road side of the lineup and can be paired with the Harman Kardon audio system. It suits buyers who want a more rugged personality.
• RHO: This is another off-road-oriented model with its own black grille treatment. It’s for shoppers who want a more specialized rugged truck.
• Limited: You get open-pore wood trim and standard Harman Kardon audio, which pushes the cabin into luxury territory. This is for buyers who want premium materials without going all the way to the top.
• Limited Longhorn: This trim also gets open-pore wood trim and standard Harman Kardon audio, with a more upscale presentation. It’s a strong choice if you want luxury with a more traditional truck feel.
• Tungsten: This is the top luxury trim, with high-end leather surfaces, a unique grille mesh pattern, and the 23-speaker Klipsch Reference Premiere audio system. It’s the pick if you want the most premium Ram 1500 experience.

The safety package note to keep in mind is that adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, blind-spot monitoring with trailer coverage, and rear cross traffic alert are standard, while some advanced features are reserved for Tungsten or option packages.

Is the 2026 RAM 1500 safe?

The 2026 RAM 1500 earns a five-star overall safety rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, blind-spot monitoring with trailer coverage, and rear cross traffic alert come standard on all 2026 RAM 1500 trucks. Ram’s Hands-Free Active Driving Assist is included with the Advanced Safety Group II package, and it requires driver attentiveness even though it is designed to operate hands-free on certain roads.

Should I buy a 2026 RAM 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 33.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The Hemi V8 returns for 2026, giving you a characterful engine choice.

Consider the 2025 if:

• It brought a major update with new tech and more power-efficient powertrain options.

The bottom line: If you want the Hemi V8 and a broad range of configurations, the 2026 is the better target. If you’re shopping mainly on price and want the strongest value play, the 2025 can still make sense as a lower-cost alternative with a major update already baked in.
