New & Used 2026 Mercedes-Benz CLE for Sale nearBakersfield, CA

Is the 2026 Mercedes-Benz CLE a good car?

The 2026 Mercedes-Benz CLE earns a 7.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, and Technology.

It’s a strong fit if you want a premium coupe or convertible that feels upscale and stylish without trying to be Mercedes’ most extravagant two-door. The CLE’s size and positioning give it a more rationalized place in the lineup, and the AMG 53 version adds more power and sharper handling while still behaving like a grand tourer rather than a hardcore track car.

The trade-offs are clear: not much cargo space, premium pricing, and some recommended driver-assist features aren’t standard. Even so, the CLE 53’s ride-and-handling balance stands out, and the market shows 35.2% of listings as good or great deals.

Is the 2026 Mercedes-Benz CLE reliable?

The 2026 Mercedes-Benz CLE is presented as a well-equipped premium model with a strong emphasis on comfort, technology, and chassis sophistication. Its performance hardware is substantial, including a turbocharged inline-six, a 48-volt starter-generator, adaptive dampers, and rear-axle steering, all of which point to a car engineered for smooth, confident operation.

The expert evaluation also describes the CLE 53 as a finely tuned grand tourer that works well for everyday driving and weekend trips. The powertrain is described as delivering immediate grunt smoothly, and the nine-speed automatic is said to shift smoothly and keep the engine in its rev range.

Mercedes also includes a year of map updates with navigation, which helps reduce early ownership friction on the tech side. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that this is a high-end, feature-rich car with premium running costs and complex equipment, so condition and maintenance history matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Mercedes-Benz CLE?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 96.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on a premium coupe or convertible where repairs can be expensive. Focus on the condition of the top, the wheels and tires, the brakes, and the cabin electronics, since this model leans heavily on comfort, tech, and driver-assistance equipment.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The CLE 53 adds wider fenders, bigger wheels, AMG styling, and a more aggressive cabin treatment, while the standard CLE setup is less dramatic.
• Powertrain: The CLE 53 uses a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six with 443 horsepower, a 48-volt starter-generator, and 4Matic+ all-wheel drive.
• Safety package: The standard suite includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, high-beam assist, a driver-attention monitor, automatic parking, front and rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitors, an exit warning system, and a surround-view camera system. The Driver Assistance Package adds adaptive cruise control, active blind-spot monitors, intersection assist, automatic lane-change capability, lane-keep assist, traffic-sign recognition, and evasive steering assist.
• Infotainment: You get a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, an 11.9-inch infotainment touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, navigation with a year of map updates and live traffic information, a Wi-Fi hotspot, wireless smartphone charging, and MBUX voice control.
• Fuel efficiency: The coupe is rated at 20 mpg city, 27 mpg highway, and 23 mpg combined, while the convertible is rated at 19/26/22 mpg city/highway/combined.

Which 2026 Mercedes-Benz CLE trim should I buy?

The 2026 Mercedes-Benz CLE is offered in 3 trim levels: CLE 300 4Matic, CLE 450 4Matic, and CLE 53.

Here's the short version:

• CLE 300 4Matic: This is the value-oriented choice if you want the CLE’s style and premium feel at the lowest entry point. It’s the trim to consider if you care more about the body style and luxury experience than maximum performance.
• CLE 450 4Matic: This is the middle ground for buyers who want more power and equipment without jumping all the way to AMG pricing. It should suit you if you want a stronger all-around balance than the base model.
• CLE 53: This is the best-value pick if you want the most complete version of the CLE experience. It adds the AMG look, stronger acceleration, and the best ride-and-handling balance in the lineup, making it the trim to buy if you want the car’s character at its fullest.

Mercedes notes that some recommended driver-assistance features are not standard, so check the equipment list carefully before you buy.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2026 Mercedes-Benz CLE?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you have room to shop carefully rather than rush.

• Deal availability: 35.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 392 listings available.
• Clean inventory: 96.2% of listings are accident-free.

Is the 2026 Mercedes-Benz CLE safe?

The 2026 Mercedes-Benz CLE has no crash-test results listed, which isn’t unusual for a high-end, low-volume car.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

The standard safety equipment includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, high-beam assist, a driver-attention monitor, automatic parking, front and rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitors, an exit warning system, a surround-view camera system, and pop-up roll bars on the convertible. The Driver Assistance Package adds adaptive cruise control, active blind-spot monitors, intersection assist, automatic lane-change capability, lane-keep assist, traffic-sign recognition, and evasive steering assist.

A key caveat is that true hands-free highway driving capability isn’t available, and some of the more advanced driver-assist features require the optional package.

Should I buy a 2026 Mercedes-Benz CLE or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 35.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 96.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• It consolidates Mercedes’ two-door lineup into one upscale, stylish model with strong AMG 53 performance.

Consider the 2025 if:

• It offers a broader trim lineup and a compelling mix of style, acceleration, and luxury features.

The bottom line: If you want the newest version of Mercedes’ consolidated coupe-and-convertible formula, the 2026 is the cleaner choice. If you’re shopping with a tighter budget, the 2025 is worth a look because it still delivers the style, luxury, and weekend-cruiser appeal that make the CLE attractive in the first place.
