New & Used 2026 Lexus TX for Sale nearCedar Rapids, IA

Is the 2026 Lexus TX a good car?

The 2026 Lexus TX earns a 7.00/10 expert rating. The model scores 7/10 across Look and feel, Performance, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, Technology, and Safety.

It stands out as Lexus’s full-size three-row SUV, and its biggest strength is simple: you get a spacious interior in a stylish package. It is aimed at buyers who want a large family SUV with a genuinely usable third row, and it also brings multiple powertrain choices to the table.

The trade-offs are just as clear. The technology can be unintuitive, and the interior materials are described as feeling cheap. Even so, it remains a strong fit if you value space, flexibility, and a premium badge in a three-row SUV.

Good and great deals account for 34.1% of listings, which suggests there is still meaningful shopping room in the market.

Is the 2026 Lexus TX reliable?

The 2026 Lexus TX is presented as a relatively young model, introduced for the 2024 model year, and that newer design status can be reassuring if you want a current-generation SUV. The expert evaluation also describes the TX as a comfortable, quiet, and smooth family hauler, which supports the idea that it is built for easy day-to-day use.

Its powertrain behavior is described in dependable terms: the ride is smooth, there are no jerks or hiccups when it switches between gas and electric power, and the brakes are firm and linear. That kind of calibration matters if you plan to keep the vehicle for a long time and want something that feels settled rather than fussy.

Lexus also includes complimentary maintenance for the first year or 10,000 miles, which helps reduce early ownership friction. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about basic drivability and more about living with the TX’s complicated technology and premium ownership costs over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Lexus TX?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 96% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and inspect any candidate carefully, especially if you are comparing trims or looking at higher-mileage examples. Pay close attention to cabin condition, because the interior materials are described as less impressive than you might expect in a luxury SUV. It is also worth testing the tech and controls yourself, since the interface can be unintuitive.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The TX 350 comes in Base, Premium, Luxury, and F Sport Handling specs, while the 500h hybrid can be had in F Sport Performance Premium and F Sport Performance Luxury trims. The 550h+ plug-in hybrid is only available in the top Luxury trim. The 550h+ adds a standard panoramic glass roof, and most models get 20-inch wheels, while the 550h+ uses standard 22-inch wheels.
• Powertrain: The base model uses a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine, while the plug-in hybrid combines a 3.5-liter V6 and hybrid system. The plug-in hybrid is the most powerful version and is described as quiet and smooth, with multiple drive options and a charge mode for drivers without home charging access.
• Safety package: Every TX gets Safety System+ 3.0, which includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, Lane Tracing Assist lane centering, lane departure warning with steering assist, traffic sign recognition, and Proactive Driving Assist. The adaptive cruise control works well once set up, but the steering wheel controls are confusing.
• Infotainment: The TX uses a 14-inch color touchscreen, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard. The system also supports wireless charging, seven USB ports, and available features such as a bird’s-eye camera view, Advanced Park, and a rear-camera mirror.
• Fuel efficiency: The plug-in hybrid has an all-electric range of 33 miles and gets an EPA-estimated 29 mpg combined once the battery is drained.

Which 2026 Lexus TX trim should I buy?

The 2026 Lexus TX is offered in 7 trim levels: Base, Premium, Luxury, F Sport Handling, F Sport Performance Premium, F Sport Performance Luxury, and Luxury.

Here's the short version:

• Base: This is the entry point if you want the TX’s core space and family-friendly layout without moving up the ladder. It gives you the broadest access to the model line, but the available content makes clear that the TX’s technology and materials are not its strongest traits, so this trim makes the most sense if you care more about the vehicle’s size and utility than upscale extras.
• Premium: This is the sensible step-up if you want a better-equipped TX without chasing the highest-priced versions. It should appeal to buyers who want the TX’s roomy third row and cargo space with a little more comfort and convenience.
• Luxury: This is the best-value trim if you want the most polished version of the TX 350 lineup, and it is also the only trim available for the 550h+ plug-in hybrid. The 550h+ adds a panoramic glass roof, 22-inch wheels, and the strongest powertrain in the lineup, making it the right choice if you want the most capability and the most upscale presentation.
• F Sport Handling: This trim is for shoppers who want a more style-forward TX 350. The available content does not describe it as a true performance model, so it makes the most sense if you want the sportier appearance and trim identity rather than a fundamentally different mission.
• F Sport Performance Premium: This is one of the hybrid-focused trims and is the right fit if you want the 500h’s performance-oriented positioning without going all the way to the top of the range.
• F Sport Performance Luxury: This is the more upscale version of the 500h hybrid and suits buyers who want the hybrid powertrain with a richer feature set.
• Luxury: The 550h+ plug-in hybrid is only available in this trim, so if you want the plug-in model, this is the one to target.

Every TX comes standard with Safety System+ 3.0, so you do not need to move up a trim to get the core driver-assistance suite.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2026 Lexus TX?

The market looks moderate for selective buyers right now, so you have enough inventory to shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 34.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 627 listings available.
• Clean inventory: 96.0% of listings are accident-free.

Is the 2026 Lexus TX safe?

The 2026 Lexus TX earns five-star ratings from NHTSA for the TX 350 and TX 500h, while IIHS gave it an Acceptable result in the driver-side small overlap front crash test and Good on the passenger side. Driver and passenger injury measures also scored Good.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Every Lexus TX gets Safety System+ 3.0 as standard. That suite includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, Lane Tracing Assist lane centering, lane departure warning with steering assist, traffic sign recognition, and Proactive Driving Assist. Adaptive cruise control is also included, though the steering wheel controls can be confusing to use.

A caveat to keep in mind is that Proactive Driving Assist can feel intrusive, and the expert evaluation notes that it is often turned off during testing. If you want the safest-feeling ownership experience, it is worth making sure you are comfortable with the driver-assistance behavior before you buy.

Should I buy a 2026 Lexus TX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 34.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 96% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• The 2026 Lexus TX stands out as Lexus’s full-size three-row SUV, and its main appeal is straightforward: it gives you a spacious option in a stylish package.

The bottom line: If you want the current TX with its roomy cabin, usable third row, and multiple powertrain choices, the 2026 is an easy year to target. If you are more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may still make sense, especially if you can find a cleaner example with the equipment you want at a lower asking price.
