Used 2025 Volkswagen Jetta for Sale nearPortland, ME

How much does the 2025 Volkswagen Jetta cost?

Prices have softened 9.67% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 4,294 listings available, which suggests you should have a healthy number of options to compare.

Is the 2025 Volkswagen Jetta a good car?

Yes — you’re looking at a 5/5 user-rated car with an expert rating of 7.33/10. The standout strength is Form and function at 9/10.

The 2025 Jetta makes a strong case if you want a compact sedan with plenty of passenger space, a large trunk, and a fuel-efficient engine with plenty of zip. Volkswagen also gives it a more polished feel this year with updated styling, an improved interior, upgraded handling, and more standard technology.

The trade-offs are worth noting: the touch-sensitive climate controls can be frustrating, and the car does not offer all-wheel drive or a hybrid option. Even so, it fits well if you want a practical sedan that still feels engaging to drive.

41.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which is a healthy sign for shoppers.

Is the 2025 Volkswagen Jetta reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2025 Jetta’s appeal starts with its sensible design and engineering, plus a roomy, comfortable cabin and a big trunk. Its turbocharged 1.5-liter engine delivers low-end torque that helps the car feel responsive in everyday driving, and the standard eight-speed automatic keeps the power delivery straightforward.

Volkswagen also includes two years or 20,000 miles of complimentary scheduled service, which helps reduce early ownership costs. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the car’s frustrating controls and lack of a hybrid or AWD alternative may make it less satisfying if your priorities lean toward simplicity or all-weather versatility.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Volkswagen Jetta?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or a car with incomplete service records. Focus on overall condition, interior wear, and whether the tech and climate controls work the way you expect, since those are the kinds of features you’ll use every day.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Jetta comes in S, Sport, SE, and SEL trims. The base S misses the lowered, sport-tuned suspension that comes standard on the higher trims, while the SEL adds leather upholstery, ambient interior lighting, upgraded digital instrumentation, and additional comfort features. If you want the best value, the Sport trim stands out as the affordable enthusiast-friendly choice.
• Powertrain: Every standard Jetta uses a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 158 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, and all-wheel drive is not available.
• Safety package: Every trim gets IQ.Drive, Volkswagen’s driver-assistance suite. It includes blind-spot monitoring with active collision avoidance, plus Lane Assist and Emergency Assist. The system is competitive, but the lane-centering setup can be a little overactive in some lane-marking transitions.
• Infotainment: Every trim gets an 8-inch touchscreen and an 8-inch digital instrument panel. The S and Sport use Bluetooth plus wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while the SE adds wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, SiriusXM, and voice recognition. The SEL upgrades to a 10.25-inch Digital Cockpit Pro display and adds navigation and eight Beats Audio speakers.
• Fuel efficiency: The Jetta is rated at 33 mpg in combined driving, and testing returned 31.8 mpg. Highway driving can reach as much as 38 mpg.

Which 2025 Volkswagen Jetta trim should I buy?

The 2025 Volkswagen Jetta is offered in 4 trim levels: S, Sport, SE, and SEL.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Jetta experience with the standard turbocharged engine, 8-inch touchscreen, and basic smartphone connectivity. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and can live without the sportier suspension and extra comfort features.
• Sport: This is the best-value trim if you want the Jetta’s more engaging side without moving too far up the price ladder. It adds the lowered, sport-tuned suspension and keeps the car’s fun-to-drive character front and center.
• SE: This is the smart upgrade if you want more convenience and tech. You get wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, SiriusXM, and voice recognition, making it a strong middle-ground choice.
• SEL: This is the most upscale version, with the 10.25-inch Digital Cockpit Pro display, navigation, Beats Audio, leather upholstery, ambient lighting, and additional comfort features. It suits you best if you want the most premium-feeling Jetta.

Every trim includes IQ.Drive, and the suite’s blind-spot monitoring with active collision avoidance and Emergency Assist are standard across the lineup.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Volkswagen Jetta?

It looks like a buyer’s market, with solid deal availability and a healthy supply of listings to compare.

• Deal availability: 41.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,294 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.67% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 89.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $20,164, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Volkswagen Jetta's resale value?

The current average of $20,164 sits slightly below last year's $22,323.

That price movement suggests the Jetta has become more affordable for used buyers, which can help you enter the market at a lower cost. For future sellers, though, softer pricing can mean you may not recover as much as owners did a year ago if the market stays competitive.

The Jetta’s broad appeal still helps support demand: it offers space, efficiency, and a more polished driving feel than many rivals. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Volkswagen Jetta safe?

The 2025 Jetta earns five-star ratings from NHTSA. It also received Good ratings in the IIHS small overlap front crash test and the original versions of the moderate overlap front and side-impact tests, plus an Acceptable rating in the updated side crash test.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Volkswagen equips every Jetta with IQ.Drive, its driver-assistance suite. Standard features include blind-spot monitoring with active collision avoidance, Lane Assist, and Emergency Assist, which can bring the car to a stop and activate the hazard lights if the driver becomes unresponsive while lane-centering is active.

The main caveat is that the Jetta is not a segment leader in safety ratings, and the updated IIHS side result is a step below the best outcome. That doesn’t make it unsafe, but it does mean you should compare it carefully against rivals if safety is your top priority.

Should I buy a 2025 Volkswagen Jetta or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 41.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.67% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Volkswagen’s refresh brings updated styling, an improved interior, upgraded handling, and more standard technology.

The bottom line: If you want the most polished version of this compact sedan’s formula, the 2025 Jetta is the one to target. If your main goal is simply to spend less, a nearby model year may still make sense, but the 2025 gives you the freshest styling and the strongest mix of space, efficiency, and everyday livability.
