CarGurus Analysis: 2025 Toyota Corolla
overall
Summary
With 8,074 currently listed for sale and an average price of $22,943, 35.1% of 2025 Toyota Corollas for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2025 Toyota Corolla 3 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 7 / 10.
86.8% of 2025 Corolla models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2025 Toyota Corolla is the epitome of a good, cheap car. It has a deserved reputation for reliability, and it comes equipped with modern infotainment and safety technologies. For buyers who want an everyday compact sedan that is easy to live with, that combination is a big part of its appeal.
What stands out most about the 2025 Corolla is that it is more stylish, more technologically advanced, and more rewarding to drive than previous Corollas. The review also notes that the new-for-2025 Corolla FX sedan adds exclusive design details along with sport-tuned steering and suspension. At the same time, the Corolla is not without drawbacks: fuel economy is poor, it can be noisy, and the stereo is lacking.

Reviewed a 2025 Toyota LE FWD on May 24, 2026
The price was good. As far as features inside the vehicle. I expected more. They are as minimal as it gets. If you are looking for a vehicle to get you from point A to point B? That is going to save you a ton of money and is as dependable as it gets. This is the one. If you are the kind of person who likes an interior that is going to spoil you? You won't find it here.

How much does the 2025 Toyota Corolla cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $22,889 |
| Year-Round Low | $21,156 |
| Year-Round High | $23,474 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $23,469 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −2.47% |
Prices have softened 2.47% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 8,188 listings available, which suggests you should have a workable amount of inventory to compare.
Is the 2025 Toyota Corolla a good car?
With a 3/5 user rating and a 7.00/10 expert rating, the 2025 Corolla looks like a practical compact sedan that leans more toward value and ease of ownership than excitement. The overview and test-drive notes point to a car that is more stylish, more technologically advanced, and more rewarding to drive than earlier Corollas, while still staying focused on everyday usability.
The standout strength is Safety at 8/10.
It also fits buyers who want an easy-to-live-with commuter with modern infotainment and safety tech, plus a reputation for reliability. The main trade-offs are poor fuel economy and a noisy cabin, and the stereo is also a weak point.
With 36.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market gives you some room to shop carefully.
Is the 2025 Toyota Corolla reliable?
The 2025 Corolla is built around a simple mechanical formula and a long-standing reputation for reliability, which is a strong starting point for used-car ownership. The expert notes also point to mechanical simplicity, a conventional gas powertrain, and ownership coverage that should help keep costs predictable.
Toyota says the Corolla should be affordable to own over time, and it includes complimentary scheduled maintenance for the first two years or 25,000 miles. That helps reduce early ownership costs and adds some peace of mind if you buy used.
For long-term ownership, your biggest risk is less about complexity and more about buying a car that has been driven hard or neglected, so condition and maintenance history matter.
What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Toyota Corolla?
Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean title alone does not tell you how the car was maintained or repaired. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with visible wear, and pay close attention to cabin condition, tire wear, brake feel, and any signs that the suspension has taken a beating.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The FX special edition adds exclusive design details, a lowered ride height, 18-inch wheels, blacked-out exterior accents, and a Moonstone-color interior, while the base LE is described as plainer. The SE is positioned as a stronger value choice than the LE, and the XSE sits above the FX in the sedan lineup.
- Powertrain: The gas Corolla uses a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 169 horsepower and 151 pound-feet of torque, paired with a CVT that uses a launch gearset. The expert notes say it is adequate rather than class-leading, and hard acceleration can bring noticeable drivetrain noise.
- Safety package: Every Corolla gets Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, which includes forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, lane centering assist, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beam headlights, road sign recognition, and Proactive Driving Assist. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are extra-cost options on all but the highest XSE trim level.
- Infotainment: Toyota offers a 10.5-inch touchscreen, along with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The system also supports connected services, but the screen lacks volume and tuning knobs, so you’ll rely more on steering-wheel controls and touchscreen inputs.
- Fuel efficiency: On the evaluation loop, the Corolla FX averaged 32.2 mpg, and the official combined rating is 34 mpg.
Which 2025 Toyota Corolla trim should I buy?
The 2025 Toyota Corolla is offered in 4 trim levels: LE, SE, FX, XSE.
Here's the short version:
- LE: This is the entry point, but the review suggests it can feel plain compared with the rest of the lineup. Buy it if your priority is keeping the purchase simple and affordable.
- SE: This is the best-value trim. The cost-effectiveness notes call it the sweet spot because it gives you more room to add features through option packages while avoiding the plain-vanilla feel of the LE.
- FX: This is the style-and-chassis upgrade. It adds the lowered sport suspension, sport-tuned steering, unique exterior details, and a more distinctive cabin, so it suits you if you want a Corolla with extra personality.
- XSE: This is the top trim in the gas lineup and the one that gets the most available convenience and tech content, including access to the premium audio system and the standard safety-package advantage noted in the safety content.
Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are extra-cost options on all but the highest XSE trim level.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Toyota Corolla?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient and compare listings carefully.
- Deal availability: 36.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 8,188 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 2.47% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 86.8% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $21,156, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2025 Toyota Corolla's resale value?
The current average of $22,889 sits slightly below last year's $23,469.
That price movement suggests the Corolla has softened enough to help you buy more carefully now, but it also means a future seller may not see strong appreciation from short-term ownership. If you plan to resell later, the safest path is to buy a clean, well-kept example at a competitive price so you have less depreciation to absorb.
Is the 2025 Toyota Corolla safe?
The 2025 Corolla earns five-star ratings in all crash tests from NHTSA, along with a four-star rollover resistance rating, and the IIHS named it a 2024 Top Safety Pick.
It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.
Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard, and it includes forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, lane centering assist, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beam headlights, road sign recognition, and Proactive Driving Assist. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are not standard on every trim, which is worth checking before you buy.
Should I buy a 2025 Toyota Corolla or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2025 if:
- 36.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 2.47% compared with last year.
- The FX special edition and the broader Corolla lineup give you a mix of style, tech, and everyday usability that the expert review says is more rewarding than older Corollas.
The bottom line: If you want the newest Corolla with the freshest styling and the most up-to-date tech in this year range, the 2025 is the one to target. If your main goal is saving money, you can also shop nearby years and focus on the cleanest, best-priced example rather than chasing the newest badge.
