How much does the 2025 Tesla Model Y cost?

Prices are up 3.11% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 1,238 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of used Model Y options to compare.

Is the 2025 Tesla Model Y a good car?

The 2025 Tesla Model Y stands out as a compact luxury crossover that blends strong practicality with Tesla’s familiar minimalist approach. It is based on the Tesla Model 3 and shares 70% to 75% of its parts, but its taller body, coupe-like SUV shape, and rear hatch give it more space and versatility. That packaging helps explain why it became one of the best-selling vehicles in the world, and why it appeals to you if you want an EV with a roomy cargo area and a long driving range.

For 2025, the Model Y received its biggest update in the form of the “Juniper” refresh, which brought a new front end, new bumper, tailgate, and tail lights, along with front and rear light bars and a more modern appearance. Tesla also retuned the suspension, improved aerodynamics, added more sound-deadening, and upgraded the interior materials. Standard equipment remained generous, with heated seats in front and rear, ambient lighting, an updated audio system with more speakers, Autopilot, and a panoramic glass roof.

The Model Y is especially appealing if you value range, cargo space, and a distinctive design, and 28.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Is the 2025 Tesla Model Y reliable?

The 2025 Tesla Model Y stands out as a compact luxury crossover that blends strong practicality with Tesla’s familiar minimalist approach. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a heavily used example may show wear in the suspension, interior, or electronics, so condition matters a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Tesla Model Y?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should start with the history report, then prioritize a thorough inspection of the body, cabin, and electronics before you commit. Focus on overall condition, because the Model Y’s value depends heavily on how well the previous owner maintained the vehicle and whether any repairs were made after damage.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Tesla Model Y?

This is a seller’s market, so you should act selectively and be ready to move when you find the right listing.

• Deal availability: 28.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,238 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 3.11% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 82.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $38,601, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Tesla Model Y's resale value?

The current average of $39,996 sits slightly above last year's $38,788.

That upward move suggests the Model Y has held its value well in this market. If you buy one now and keep it in strong condition, you may have a better chance of protecting your resale position later. The current pricing also signals that well-kept examples remain in demand, which can help you when it is time to sell.

Should I buy a 2025 Tesla Model Y or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 28.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices are up 3.11% year-over-year.

The bottom line: The 2025 is the better path if you want the refreshed look, strong practicality, and a used EV with broad market availability. If you are more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may give you a lower entry point, but you should still compare condition, accident history, and deal quality closely before deciding.
