How much does the 2025 Tesla Model Y cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

There are 1,245 listings available, which gives you a fairly broad pool to compare prices and equipment.

Is the 2025 Tesla Model Y a good car?

The 2025 Tesla Model Y stands out as a compact luxury crossover that blends strong practicality with Tesla’s familiar minimalist approach. It is based on the Tesla Model 3 and shares 70% to 75% of its parts, but its taller body, coupe-like SUV shape, and rear hatch give it more space and versatility. That packaging helps explain why it became one of the best-selling vehicles in the world, and why it appeals to you if you want an EV with a roomy cargo area and a long driving range.

For 2025, the Model Y received its biggest update in the form of the “Juniper” refresh, which brought a new front end, new bumper, tailgate, and tail lights, along with front and rear light bars and a more modern appearance. Tesla also retuned the suspension, improved aerodynamics, added more sound-deadening, and upgraded the interior materials. Standard equipment remained generous, with heated seats in front and rear, ambient lighting, an updated audio system with more speakers, Autopilot, and a panoramic glass roof.

The 2025 Tesla Model Y is also appealing because it keeps the brand’s strengths front and center: quick acceleration, lots of standard features, and EV-friendly utility. At the same time, it still has some familiar drawbacks, including a firm ride, the lack of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a cabin where almost all controls run through the touchscreen. For buyers who value range, cargo space, and a distinctive design, it remains a compelling used EV choice.

With 21.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful chance to find a competitive price if you shop carefully.

For long-term ownership, you should expect the usual used-EV risk profile: battery, software, and electronics matter more than traditional engine wear, so condition and maintenance history are especially important.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Tesla Model Y?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should start with the history report to confirm there are no hidden collision claims, title issues, or repeated repairs. After that, prioritize a thorough inspection of the battery-related systems, charging equipment, tires, brakes, and suspension, since those areas can have the biggest impact on ownership costs and day-to-day usability. Focus on overall condition and how the vehicle has been maintained, because a clean-looking listing is not a substitute for documented care.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Tesla Model Y?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop, compare, and wait for the right listing.

• Deal availability: 21.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,245 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 85.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $38,584, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Tesla Model Y's resale value?

The current average of $38,905 sits slightly above last year's $38,655.

That small increase suggests the Model Y has held its value reasonably well in the used market. For you as a future seller, that points to a vehicle with steady demand rather than sharp depreciation swings. The current pricing also indicates that well-kept examples should remain relatively easy to position competitively if you decide to sell later.

Because the market has been stable, condition and mileage will likely matter more than trying to time a dramatic price move. If you maintain the vehicle well and keep documentation organized, you should be in a stronger position when it comes time to list it.

Should I buy a 2025 Tesla Model Y or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 21.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.

The bottom line: If you want the freshest version of the Model Y with the Juniper refresh, the 2025 is the primary path to consider because it combines updated styling, improved refinement, and strong everyday utility. If your priority is saving money, a nearby model year can still make sense, especially if you find a cleaner example with a lower asking price and the equipment you want.
