How much does the 2025 RAM 1500 cost?

Prices have softened 8.22% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 9,714 listings available, which suggests you should have a healthy range of choices.

Is the 2025 RAM 1500 a good car?

Generally — the 2025 RAM 1500 earns a 4/5 user rating and an 8.33/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise its sharp looks, smooth ride, and powerful engine options, and they also highlight the quality and finish as standout traits. The truck’s premium interior materials and spacious cabin fit the model’s upscale, full-size pickup positioning, while the available off-road capability adds versatility. On the other hand, some buyers feel the price is steep and note that the touchscreen features could be better, and advanced safety features are not standard. With a new super-luxe trim and more tech for 2025, it’s aimed at shoppers who want a more premium truck experience.

The market also looks reasonably accessible, with 36.6% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2025 RAM 1500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a truck that feels dependable in daily use, with praise centered on its smooth ride, strong engine options, and quality finish. The expert drive notes also emphasize smooth-shifting transmission behavior and a comfortable ride, which supports the sense that this is a truck you can count on over time. Ram also says the new engine architecture is more efficient, and the lineup includes a more efficient powertrain option for buyers who want a modern long-haul setup.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that higher-end tech and advanced driver-assistance features may add complexity, so condition and feature operation matter.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 RAM 1500?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and verify that the truck’s equipment matches the trim and options advertised. A pre-purchase inspection is especially important on a full-size pickup with premium tech, because you’ll want to confirm that the cabin electronics, driver-assistance features, and suspension components all work as intended. Focus on overall condition, since this model year leans heavily into upscale materials and feature content that can be expensive to sort out later.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup ranges from the base Tradesman to the new Tungsten, with the higher trims adding more premium materials, more distinctive interior treatments, and features like the walk-up animation on the top trims. Base-trim trucks are more work-focused, while the upper trims are aimed at buyers who want a luxury-leaning cabin.
• Powertrain: The base engine is the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6, while the upgrade is the 3.0-liter Hurricane twin-turbo inline-six in standard-output and high-output forms. The standard-output version is the one tied to maximum towing capacity, and the new engine family is described as more efficient.
• Safety package: The available Hands-Free Driving Assist system can change speeds, maintain distance, and keep the truck centered in its lane on approved roadways. Newly enhanced automatic emergency braking includes evasive steering assist, but blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, traffic-sign recognition, and the surround-view camera are not standard.
• Infotainment: An 8.4-inch screen is standard even on the base trim, a 12-inch screen is available, and the truck can be equipped with a 14.5-inch touchscreen running Uconnect 5. The available 10.25-inch passenger screen starts with Laramie, and the truck also offers wireless charging and a digital driver display on higher trims.
• Fuel efficiency: Ram says the new engine architecture translates to better MPGs, even during trailer towing, but no fuel-economy figure is stated.

Which 2025 RAM 1500 trim should I buy?

The 2025 RAM 1500 is offered in 6 trim levels: Tradesman, Laramie, Rebel, Longhorn, Limited, Tungsten.

Here's the short version:

• Tradesman: This is the entry point, so it makes the most sense if you want the lowest starting price and a straightforward work-truck setup. It gets the standard 8.4-inch screen, but it is the least premium choice in the lineup.
• Laramie: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it starts adding more upscale content without jumping all the way to the luxury end. It also unlocks the available 10.25-inch passenger screen.
• Rebel: Choose this if you want the most off-road-focused personality in the lineup. The content highlights its darker exterior treatment and its specialized hardware for rough terrain.
• Longhorn: This trim leans into comfort and upscale character, and it also brings standard air suspension starting here. That makes it a strong pick if you want a more refined ride and easier step-in height adjustment.
• Limited: This is the step-up luxury choice before the top trim, with premium interior treatment and access to more high-end tech. It suits you if you want a near-top experience without paying Tungsten money.
• Tungsten: This is the most luxurious version, with the richest materials, the most distinctive interior design, and the most feature-rich presentation. It’s the one to buy if you want the full flagship treatment.

Advanced safety features are not standard, so make sure the trim you choose has the driver-assistance equipment you want.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 RAM 1500?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without assuming every listing is a bargain.

• Deal availability: 36.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 9,714 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.22% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 92.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $43,383, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 RAM 1500's resale value?

The current average of $43,383 sits slightly below last year's $47,266.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer but may pressure future resale if you overpay today. If you buy near the current average or below, you reduce the risk of taking an immediate depreciation hit. Strong feature content and broad shopper appeal should still help support demand, especially for well-equipped examples in good condition.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 RAM 1500 safe?

The 2025 RAM 1500 does not have a crash-test lead to cite from the provided safety text, but it does earn an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The available Hands-Free Driving Assist system is the headline safety and driver-assistance feature for 2025. It can handle lane centering, speed changes, and following distance on approved roadways, and it can prompt the driver to refocus if attention drifts for too long. Newly enhanced automatic emergency braking adds evasive steering assist, and Ram says the cameras can detect a cyclist or motorcycle in the blind spot.

The main caveat is that advanced safety features are not standard, and blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, traffic-sign recognition, and the surround-view camera are also not standard. That means you should pay close attention to the exact equipment on any used listing you consider.

Should I buy a 2025 RAM 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 36.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.22% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• It adds a new super-luxe trim, more tech, and hands-free driving capability.

Consider the 2026 if:

• At $51,726, the 2026 costs more than the current year's $43,383 average.
• The Hemi V8 returns for buyers who want that engine character.

The bottom line: If you want the better value and the newer tech package, the 2025 is the smarter primary choice. If you specifically want the returning Hemi V8 and are willing to pay more, the 2026 is the better fit for you.
