Used 2025 Nissan Altima for Sale nearAustin, TX

How much does the 2025 Nissan Altima cost?

Prices have softened 10.57% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 8,745 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable range of choices.

Is the 2025 Nissan Altima a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Nissan Altima earns a 5/5 user rating and a 5.83/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Form and function at 8/10.

It stands out as a midsize sedan that still makes a case for itself if you want a traditional car instead of a crossover. You get terrific front seats, available all-wheel drive, and technology that can be competitive in SL and SR Premium Package models.

The trade-offs are clear: performance is fairly pedestrian, the interior materials feel cheap, and some of the technology is outdated. That makes it easy to live with, but less compelling if you want a more modern or polished daily driver.

The market shows 37.8% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Nissan Altima reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Altima’s value-focused setup and straightforward mechanical formula support an easy ownership experience, and its standard equipment is broad enough to cover everyday needs without much fuss. The engine and CVT combination is described as calm and unobtrusive, and the car’s real-world fuel economy matches its official rating.

Nissan also includes three complimentary oil changes, which helps soften early ownership costs. For used buyers, the bigger long-term risk is that this model is aging and may be harder to justify if you want the latest tech or a more refined cabin.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Nissan Altima?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper records review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on the cabin condition, brake feel, and how the tech operates in real use. If you’re shopping an SR, pay extra attention to whether the car has the equipment you want, since feature content changes meaningfully by trim.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes S, SV, SV Special Edition, SR, and SL trim levels. The SV Special Edition adds black wheels, a rear spoiler, and comfort and technology upgrades, while the SR brings 19-inch wheels, sport suspension, brake-induced torque vectoring, and sport-bolstered front seats. Base-trim equipment is simpler, so you should compare feature content carefully before assuming every Altima feels similarly equipped.
• Powertrain: Every Altima uses a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with a CVT. Front-wheel-drive models make 188 horsepower and 180 pound-feet of torque, while AWD models drop to 182 horsepower and 178 pound-feet of torque. The AWD system adds cost and trims fuel economy, so it’s worth deciding whether you truly need it.
• Safety package: Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard and includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, automatic rear braking, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. The SL trim adds ProPilot Assist 1.0, a surround-view camera system, and active blind-spot monitoring, so lower trims miss some of the most advanced driver-assistance features.
• Infotainment: The standard system uses an 8-inch touchscreen with wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, and a six-speaker stereo. SV Special Edition and SL models get a 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless smartphone charging, NissanConnect services, navigation, and a conversational voice assistant.
• Fuel efficiency: Front-wheel-drive models should get 31-32 mpg in combined driving, while AWD models should get 28 mpg combined. The AWD test vehicle averaged 28.3 mpg on a mountainous route.

Which 2025 Nissan Altima trim should I buy?

The 2025 Nissan Altima is offered in 5 trim levels: S, SV, SV Special Edition, SR, and SL.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the simplest way into the Altima lineup, so it makes sense if you want the lowest-cost path into the model and are comfortable with the most basic equipment.
• SV: This is the trim most shoppers should start with because it balances everyday comfort and value without pushing the price as high as the upper trims.
• SV Special Edition: This is the best-value trim because it adds black wheels, a rear spoiler, and comfort and technology upgrades that make the Altima feel more complete.
• SR: Choose this if you want the sportier look and firmer chassis tuning, along with 19-inch wheels and sport-bolstered front seats.
• SL: This is the most feature-rich choice, especially if you want the best safety and tech content, including ProPilot Assist 1.0 and the larger infotainment setup.

Choosing the SL trim level is also your ticket to the best safety features available for the Altima.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Nissan Altima?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find decent value.

• Deal availability: 37.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 8,745 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.57% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 85.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,662, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Nissan Altima's resale value?

The current average of $20,903 sits slightly below last year's $23,374.

That decline suggests the Altima is losing value at a noticeable pace, which can be a concern if you plan to sell in a few years. For you, that means buying carefully matters: a lower purchase price today can help offset weaker future resale. The model’s broad availability also keeps pressure on prices, so condition and trim choice will matter when it’s time to trade or sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Nissan Altima safe?

The 2025 Nissan Altima gets a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, including a rare five-star rollover resistance rating.

It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.

Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard on every Altima, with forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, automatic rear braking, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. The SL trim adds ProPilot Assist 1.0, which combines adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability and lane-centering assist, plus a surround-view camera system and active blind-spot monitoring.

The caution flag is the IIHS testing: the Altima gets a Poor rating in updated side impact protection and front crash prevention evaluations, and a Marginal result in an updated moderate offset frontal test. That means you should weigh the standard safety tech against those weaker crash-test results.

Should I buy a 2025 Nissan Altima or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 37.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.57% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Nissan adds the SV Special Edition Package this year to help keep the lineup relevant.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $19,856, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $20,903 average.
• It leans on value and familiarity while still offering available all-wheel drive and easy-to-use tech.

The bottom line: If you want the newer model-year package and can find a strong deal, the 2025 is the better target. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2024 is the smarter path, especially if you’re comfortable giving up the latest special-edition content.
