How much does the 2025 Mazda MAZDA3 cost?

There are 1,833 listings available, which gives you a meaningful pool to compare prices and equipment.

Is the 2025 Mazda MAZDA3 a good car?

Yes — 5/5 from owners, and the expert rating is 7.5/10. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Safety.

The 2025 Mazda MAZDA3 is aimed at you if you want a compact car that feels more polished than many rivals. It stands out for style, refinement, and enjoyable driving dynamics, and Mazda says it still looks, feels, and drives better than some competitors despite its age.

The main trade-offs are a cramped back seat and outdated technology, plus poor rear visibility. Even so, the car’s strong safety reputation and engaging character make it appealing if you value personality and polish over maximum practicality.

Good and great deals account for 33.4% of listings, which suggests there are still some attractive opportunities in the market.

Is the 2025 Mazda MAZDA3 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2025 Mazda MAZDA3 is described as aging gracefully, and Mazda’s focus on refinement and quality helps it feel more mature than many compact-car rivals. The expert review also emphasizes that the car remains smooth, quiet, and refined across its rev range, which supports the impression of a well-sorted powertrain.

Mazda’s standard G-Vectoring Control Plus technology is designed to enhance handling and stability, and the car is described as communicative, predictable, trustworthy, and tossable. Mazda also includes a complimentary one-year subscription to Mazda Connected Services.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about outright durability and more about living with an aging design that already shows its age in technology and rear-seat packaging.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Mazda MAZDA3?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the vehicle history report carefully and prioritize a thorough inspection, especially if you’re shopping for a higher-mileage example or one with added equipment. Focus on overall condition, because the car’s appeal depends heavily on how well it has been maintained and whether its interior and exterior still feel fresh.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes base, Select Sport, Preferred, Carbon Edition, Premium, Carbon Turbo, and Premium Plus trims. The base versions are the most affordable, while higher trims add more upscale features and, in some cases, turbocharged power.
• Powertrain: The standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder makes 191 horsepower and is described as smooth, quiet, and refined. Turbo models raise output substantially, but they require premium gas.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Adaptive cruise control is available, but manual-transmission cars do not get stop-and-go capability, and lane centering assist is unavailable.
• Infotainment: Depending on version, the display measures 8.8 inches or 10.25 inches. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto can be used with touchscreen input, and only a few versions offer wireless connectivity.
• Fuel efficiency: The manual transmission is rated at 30 mpg in combined driving, and the test car returned 29.1 mpg on a mountainous evaluation loop.

Which 2025 Mazda MAZDA3 trim should I buy?

The 2025 Mazda MAZDA3 is offered in 7 trim levels: base, Select Sport, Preferred, Carbon Edition, Premium, Carbon Turbo, and Premium Plus.

Here's the short version:

• base: This is the entry point if you want the lowest-cost way into the Mazda3 lineup, but you should expect fewer upscale touches than the higher trims.
• Select Sport: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds Amazon Alexa Built-in while staying relatively accessible in the lineup.
• Preferred: Choose this if you want a step up in comfort and refinement without jumping all the way to the more expensive trims.
• Carbon Edition: This is for you if you want a more distinctive appearance and a richer-feeling setup than the lower trims.
• Premium: This is the trim to target if you want the manual transmission, along with a more enthusiast-friendly setup and a stronger feature mix.
• Carbon Turbo: Pick this if you want the turbocharged engine and the extra performance that comes with it.
• Premium Plus: This is the top choice if you want the most upscale version of the standard lineup, including the added navigation upgrade mentioned for 2025.

Safety remains a major strength across the lineup, with standard driver-assistance features and top-tier crash ratings.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Mazda MAZDA3?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it makes sense to shop carefully and compare listings.

• Deal availability: 33.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,833 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.28% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 87.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $22,701, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Mazda MAZDA3's resale value?

The current average of $22,752 sits slightly below last year's $25,081.

That price movement suggests the model has softened enough to create a better entry point for used buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to price competitively. If you buy well now, you may have less downside than someone who paid closer to last year’s average.

The Mazda3’s strong styling, safety reputation, and owner satisfaction should help support demand over time. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Mazda MAZDA3 safe?

The 2025 Mazda MAZDA3 earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from IIHS and five-star ratings in all NHTSA crash tests, including rollover resistance.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Adaptive cruise control is available, though manual-transmission cars do not get stop-and-go capability, and lane centering assist is unavailable.

One caveat is that the lane departure warning system can issue inaccurate alerts in narrowing lanes, and adaptive cruise control can be overly aggressive in sharper curves.

Should I buy a 2025 Mazda MAZDA3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 33.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.28% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Mazda adds a new base 2.5 S version and more tech for select trims.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $21,370, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $22,752 average.
• It offers an upscale feel with strong styling and engaging driving dynamics.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It adds available all-wheel drive and keeps the Mazda3’s upscale, athletic character.

The bottom line: The 2025 is the best all-around pick if you want the newest pricing context, strong safety, and a well-rounded compact car with personality. If your priority is saving money, the 2024 is the smarter value play, while the 2026 makes sense if you want to wait for the next model year’s updates.
