How much does the 2024 Volvo XC40 cost?

Is the 2024 Volvo XC40 a good car?

Generally — the 2024 Volvo XC40 earns a 4/5 user rating, which lines up with its appeal as a compact luxury SUV that blends practicality with a premium-feeling cabin. The overview points to a distinctive Scandinavian design, impressive rear seat room, and a large cargo area with a useful folding floor divider, so you get everyday usefulness without giving up style. It also comes with standard safety tech and a well-equipped interior, including a 9-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility.

That said, you should weigh its poor rear visibility and fiddly touch-based interior controls against those strengths. With 36.7% of listings priced as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively for the right example.

Is the 2024 Volvo XC40 reliable?

Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview also notes some reliability concerns, so you should treat this as a vehicle where condition and maintenance history matter more than a quick glance at the badge. For used buyers, that means the long-term ownership risk is manageable if you choose carefully, but it is not a model to buy blindly.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Volvo XC40?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and confirm the car’s service records before you commit. Put inspection priority on the interior controls, visibility-related concerns, and overall wear, since those are the kinds of issues that can affect day-to-day satisfaction. It also makes sense to focus on cargo-area condition and cabin fit and finish, because those are part of the XC40’s core appeal.

That small increase suggests the XC40 has held its value reasonably well in the near term, which is a good sign if you plan to sell later. Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 Volvo XC40 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 36.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $28,472, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $31,133 average.
• It adds mild-hybrid updates and revised styling.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market balance of price stability, clean inventory, and broad availability, the 2024 is the safer primary pick. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2023 is the better value-oriented alternative, especially if you find one in strong condition.
