Used 2024 Toyota 4Runner for Sale nearOklahoma City, OK

How much does the 2024 Toyota 4Runner cost?

Prices are up 9.76% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 3,955 listings available, which suggests you have a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Toyota 4Runner a good car?

Generally — the 2024 Toyota 4Runner earns 4.17/5 from owners and 4.5/10 from experts. The standout strength is Form and function at 6/10.

Owners most often praise its spaciousness, power, and styling, and they also call out improved ride quality along with features like heated seats and blind spot monitoring. In use, that lines up with a vehicle that fits you well if you want a rugged SUV with plenty of cargo space and a loyal following.

The trade-offs are clear: poor handling, sluggish performance, and poor fuel economy. If you want a tougher, more off-road-focused SUV and can live with older tech and less polish, it makes sense; if you want a more refined daily driver, it is a harder fit.

With 36.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Toyota 4Runner reliable?

Owners rate it 4.17/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner summary points to a vehicle that feels dependable in the ways that matter to you most: spaciousness, power, and a durable-feeling setup that keeps buyers coming back. The expert assessment also emphasizes its strong reputation for reliability and durability, which reinforces the idea that this is a truck-based SUV built for long-term use.

The powertrain and chassis are described as well suited to off-road use, and the overall tone suggests a vehicle you can count on for rugged duty. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about basic toughness and more about living with aging technology, fuel thirst, and the compromises that come with an older platform.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Toyota 4Runner?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the truck has seen trail use or heavy commuting. Focus on wear items, signs of off-road abuse, and whether the vehicle’s condition matches its mileage and price.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base SR5 starts with the essentials, while higher trims add more equipment and the TRD Pro brings underbody skid plates, all-terrain tires, and a beefier roof rack. If you want the most serious off-road look and hardware, the upper trims are where the 4Runner’s personality becomes more obvious.
• Powertrain: Every 2024 4Runner uses a 4.0-liter V6 with 270 horsepower and 278 lb-ft of torque, paired with a five-speed automatic. Most trims are rear-wheel drive with four-wheel drive available, while the TRD Pro comes standard with 4WD and a two-speed transfer case.
• Safety package: The standard suite includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert. The TRD Pro and Limited add a surround-view camera system, and the Limited also gets front and rear parking proximity sensors.
• Infotainment: You get an eight-inch touchscreen with standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The system is basic by modern standards, and it does not include some of the off-road-specific apps and gauges found in some rivals.
• Fuel efficiency: EPA estimates are 16 mpg city, 19 mpg highway, and 17 mpg combined.

Which 2024 Toyota 4Runner trim should I buy?

The 2024 Toyota 4Runner is offered in 2 trim levels: SR5 and TRD Pro.

Here's the short version:

• SR5: This is the value-oriented starting point if you want the 4Runner’s core strengths without paying for the most specialized hardware. It gives you the traditional body-on-frame SUV formula, the V6, and the standard safety and infotainment basics, making it the trim most buyers should start with.
• TRD Pro: This is the one to choose if you want the most serious off-road character and the richest equipment list. It adds standard 4WD, a two-speed transfer case, skid plates, all-terrain tires, and a 15-speaker JBL audio system, but it is best for buyers who will actually use the extra capability.

The safety package is broad, but the TRD Pro and Limited are the trims that add the surround-view camera system.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Toyota 4Runner?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Inventory: There are 3,955 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 9.76% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 91.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $40,848, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Toyota 4Runner's resale value?

The current average of $47,149 sits slightly above last year's $42,957.

That upward move suggests the market still places value on this model’s rugged image and loyal following. For a future seller, that can help support pricing if your vehicle is clean, well maintained, and equipped in a desirable trim.

The current price range also shows that buyers are still willing to pay for the 4Runner’s reputation, even with its age-related compromises. If demand stays steady, a well-kept example should remain relatively easy to move compared with less distinctive SUVs.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.17/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Toyota 4Runner safe?

The 2024 Toyota 4Runner earns four-star ratings for overall and frontal crash protection from NHTSA, five-star ratings in side impacts, and three-star ratings in rollover evaluations. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gives it a Good rating for the original moderate frontal overlap crash test and side protection tests, but the newer small overlap frontal test includes Marginal and Poor results.

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

You get a full suite of driver-assistance features, including adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert. The TRD Pro and Limited add a surround-view camera system, while only the Limited gets front and rear parking proximity sensors.

The main caveat is that the safety results are mixed for a vehicle in this price range, and the alert tuning can feel oversensitive in daily driving. If safety is a top priority, you should pay close attention to trim equipment and be realistic about the 4Runner’s older crash-test profile.

Should I buy a 2024 Toyota 4Runner or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 36.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices are up 9.76% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.17/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• It remains a rugged, off-road-focused SUV with strong reliability and durability.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $43,608, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $47,149 average.
• It adds standard blind-spot monitoring and a limited-production special edition.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $49,000, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $47,149 average.
• It brings a full redesign with more capability, comfort, technology, and a hybrid option.

The bottom line: If you want the classic 4Runner formula and can accept its age, the 2024 is the safer buy than waiting for a newer redesign. If price matters most, the 2023 is the better value play; if you want a more modern and efficient SUV, the 2025 is the stronger long-term direction.
