Is the 2024 GMC Sierra 3500HD a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction, and the 2024 Sierra 3500HD backs that up with serious work capability and a more polished, feature-rich personality. It offers a broad range of cab, bed, and axle configurations, plus a refreshed front end and upgraded tech that make it more appealing if you want a heavy-duty truck that can still feel modern. The 2024 Sierra 3500HD is built around heavy-duty capability, with a focus on towing, hauling, and configurable utility rather than complexity for its own sake. Its appeal comes from how much it can do and how many ways it can be configured, which is a good sign if you want a truck that can handle demanding use. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure a hard-working truck has been maintained carefully and not overtaxed.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 GMC Sierra 3500HD?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report so you can confirm how the truck was used and whether it has any hidden damage or title issues. Prioritize a thorough inspection of the drivetrain, suspension, brakes, tires, and towing-related equipment, since heavy-duty trucks are often bought for demanding work. Focus on overall condition and signs of hard use, especially if you are considering a truck that may have spent time towing or hauling regularly.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 GMC Sierra 3500HD?

This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting a deep bargain on every listing.

• Deal availability: 35.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

If you find a listing below $66,952, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 GMC Sierra 3500HD's resale value?

The current average of $66,952 sits slightly below last year's $72,614.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can matter if you plan to sell later. A lower current entry price can help you buy with less downside risk, but it also means future resale gains may be limited unless demand strengthens. The truck’s broad capability and upscale appeal should help it stay relevant with buyers who need serious towing and hauling strength.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 GMC Sierra 3500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 35.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.80% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of current pricing, broad inventory, and updated tech, the 2024 is the primary year to target. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby older year may be worth considering, but the 2024 gives you a compelling balance of capability and market value.
