Used 2024 Chevrolet Trax for Sale nearLake Charles, LA

How much does the 2024 Chevrolet Trax cost?

Prices have softened 6.12% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 7,260 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Trax a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Chevrolet Trax earns a 4.62/5 user rating and an 8.33/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Cost effectiveness, and Technology.

Owners consistently praise its sporty design, fuel efficiency, and comfort, and they also value the modern technology and strong value for money. In practical terms, that lines up well with a small SUV that is meant to bridge the gap for shoppers coming from discontinued small cars while still feeling more contemporary than the old Trax.

The main trade-offs are that it lacks power for some drivers and does not offer all-wheel drive. It also asks you to accept a more basic, entry-level approach in some areas, even though the redesign gives it a much clearer identity than before.

The market reflects that appeal, with 39.1% of listings priced as good or great deals.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Trax reliable?

Owners rate it 4.62/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable enough for everyday use, with repeated praise for comfort, value, and fuel efficiency. That kind of feedback usually matters most when you want a small crossover you can count on for routine commuting and errands without feeling like you overpaid for the package.

The expert evaluation also describes the Trax as a solid entry in the niche of front-wheel-drive subcompact crossovers, with a well-sorted powertrain and suspension. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that you should still verify condition carefully, since the model’s value proposition depends on getting a clean example that has been maintained properly.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Chevrolet Trax?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are shopping outside the cleanest listings. Focus on overall condition, interior wear, and whether the equipment level matches the trim you expect, since the Trax’s appeal depends heavily on getting the right feature set for your budget.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: LS models use 17-inch steel wheels and a cloth, mostly plastic interior, while higher trims add Evotex upholstery and available 18-inch or 19-inch aluminum wheels. The base trim is the most stripped-down, so you should compare it carefully against the better-equipped versions if you want a more polished cabin.
• Powertrain: The Trax uses a 1.2-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine with 137 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive only. It is tuned for car-like handling and strong low-speed response rather than outright power.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, forward collision warning, automatic high beams, and a following distance indicator. Adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear park assist are optional, so check carefully if those matter to you.
• Infotainment: LS and 1RS trims get an 8-inch touchscreen, while LT, 2RS, and Activ models get an 11-inch touchscreen and an 8-inch digital instrument cluster. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are available, and wireless phone charging is offered on higher trims.
• Fuel efficiency: The Trax returns 30 mpg combined (28 mpg city, 32 mpg highway), which is a useful strength if you want a budget-friendly commuter.

Which 2024 Chevrolet Trax trim should I buy?

The 2024 Chevrolet Trax is offered in 5 trim levels: LS, 1RS, LT, 2RS, and Activ.

Here's the short version:

• LS: This is the least expensive way into the redesigned Trax, but it is also the most basic. You get the standard 8-inch touchscreen and the core safety equipment, yet the cabin is the simplest and the steel wheels make it feel more entry-level than the higher trims.
• 1RS: This trim adds a sportier look without moving too far up the price ladder, and it keeps the standard 8-inch touchscreen. It makes sense if you want style over substance and do not need the larger display or extra cabin upgrades.
• LT: This is the best-value choice for most shoppers because it adds the 11-inch touchscreen, the 8-inch digital instrument cluster, and rear-seat USB ports. It is the trim that most clearly delivers the Trax’s upgraded tech story without jumping all the way to the pricier versions.
• 2RS: This trim leans into the RS appearance theme and adds the larger screen setup, but it is more about style than a major capability jump. Choose it if you want the sportier look and are willing to pay more for it.
• Activ: This is the most distinctive-looking version, with its own rugged-leaning styling touches and the same upgraded tech package as the upper trims. It is the right pick if you want the most expressive Trax, though it is not a true off-road model.

Advanced safety features are not standard, so check the equipment list carefully if you want blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, rear cross-traffic alert, or rear park assist.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Chevrolet Trax?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient.

• Deal availability: 39.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 7,260 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.12% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 90.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $20,724, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Chevrolet Trax's resale value?

The current average of $20,724 sits slightly below last year's $22,075.

That price movement suggests the Trax has become more affordable for used buyers, which can help demand in the near term. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on trim, condition, and mileage rather than on broad market appreciation.

Because the model is still attracting shoppers with its value, tech, and styling, a clean example should remain relatively easy to market. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.62/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Trax safe?

The Trax was not rated by IIHS or NHTSA at the time of publication.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard driver-assistance features include automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, forward collision warning, automatic high beams, and a following distance indicator. Adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear park assist are optional, so you should verify whether the used example you are considering has the safety equipment you want.

A key caveat is that advanced safety features are not standard, so lower trims may leave you wanting more if driver assistance is a priority.

Should I buy a 2024 Chevrolet Trax or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 39.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.12% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.62/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The redesigned Trax brings a much more modern look, stronger tech, and a clearer identity than the older version.

The bottom line: If you want the redesigned Trax’s better styling, improved technology, and strong value proposition, the 2024 is the one to target. If your main goal is simply to minimize purchase price, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2024’s combination of market softness and broad appeal makes it the safer default choice for most used buyers.
