How much does the 2024 Chevrolet Suburban cost?

Prices have softened 12.59% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,908 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Suburban a good car?

The 2024 Chevrolet Suburban earns an expert rating of 7.5/10.

The model scores 9/10 across Performance and Form and function.

It fits your needs best if you want a body-on-frame family hauler with massive cargo space, strong towing ability, and a cabin that benefits from the independent rear suspension redesign. The trade-offs are clear: the V8s are not fuel-efficient, the technology is underwhelming, and it is expensive.

Cons: The V8s are not fuel-efficient, and the technology is underwhelming.

With 39.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Suburban reliable?

The 2024 Chevrolet Suburban is built around a truck-based layout and a powertrain lineup that emphasizes capability, which supports its long-haul usefulness for families with big towing and cargo needs.

Its Duramax diesel is described as smooth, with plenty of acceleration and great passing power, and the 10-speed automatic is well tuned with decisive shift points. The cabin and chassis are also presented as comfortable and composed enough for everyday use, even if the vehicle’s size remains impossible to ignore.

The diesel’s better fuel economy and lower purchase price on some trims can help reduce ownership strain, especially if you plan to use the Suburban’s towing and hauling strengths regularly. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is paying for capability you may not fully use, especially if your driving is mostly short trips or city commuting.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Chevrolet Suburban?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully and prioritize a thorough inspection, especially on a large SUV where wear, prior damage, and option content can vary a lot from one listing to another. Focus on condition, maintenance records, and whether the equipment matches what you actually want to use.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Chevrolet sells the Suburban in six trims: LS, LT, RST, Z71, Premier, and High Country. The LS is the only trim with cloth seats and the smallest standard screen, while higher trims add leather upholstery, larger wheels, and more upscale cabin materials.
• Powertrain: Chevrolet offers three engine options: a 5.3-liter V8, a 6.2-liter V8, and a Duramax 3.0-liter turbodiesel six-cylinder. The diesel stands out for better fuel economy and strong passing power, while the V8s emphasize towing and acceleration.
• Safety package: Forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, front and rear park assist, lane-keeping assist with lane-departure warning, and Chevy’s Teen Driver feature are standard on every trim. Rear cross-traffic alert is available on lower trims and standard on higher ones. Super Cruise is available on the Premier and High Country.
• Infotainment: The standard touchscreen is 10.2 inches on all but the LS, which gets an 8-inch screen. Wireless Android Auto, wireless Apple CarPlay, and Google Built-in are included.
• Fuel efficiency: The diesel delivers significantly better fuel economy than the eight-cylinder options.

Which 2024 Chevrolet Suburban trim should I buy?

The 2024 Chevrolet Suburban is offered in 6 trim levels: LS, LT, RST, Z71, Premier, and High Country.

Here's the short version:

• LS: This is the entry point, and it makes sense if you want the Suburban’s core space and towing ability at the lowest starting price. You give up leather upholstery and the larger standard touchscreen, so it works best if you care more about utility than luxury.
• LT: This is the trim to target if you want a more balanced mix of equipment and value. It adds more of the comfort and convenience buyers expect without jumping all the way to the pricier upper trims.
• RST: Choose this if you want a sportier look and the stronger available powertrain choices. It suits buyers who want more style without moving into the luxury end of the lineup.
• Z71: This is the one to consider if you want the off-road-focused version and plan to use the available 4WD capability. It also gets access to the stronger engine options.
• Premier: This is the better pick if you want a more upscale cabin and available Super Cruise. It is a strong choice for buyers who want luxury features without going all the way to the top trim.
• High Country: This is the most luxurious version, with the richest trim content and the most available tech. It makes the most sense if you want the most premium Suburban experience and are willing to pay for it.

The Premier and High Country can be equipped with Super Cruise, and that package is standard on the High Country’s higher-end setup.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Chevrolet Suburban?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it pays to compare listings carefully and move quickly on the right one.

• Deal availability: 39.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,908 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.59% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 89.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $56,998, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Chevrolet Suburban's resale value?

The current average of $56,998 sits slightly below last year's $65,211.

That drop suggests the market has become more favorable for buyers than sellers. If you own one and plan to sell later, you should expect pricing pressure unless your Suburban is especially well equipped, unusually clean, or priced aggressively.

For future resale, the strongest listings will likely be the ones with desirable equipment, clean history, and the powertrain shoppers want most. If you buy carefully now, you can reduce the risk of taking a bigger hit later.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Suburban safe?

The 2024 Chevrolet Suburban earns four-star ratings in frontal crash and rollover, and five-star ratings in side-crash tests from NHTSA.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Safety features such as forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, front and rear park assist, lane-keeping assist with lane-departure warning, and Chevy’s Teen Driver feature are standard on every trim. Rear cross-traffic alert is available on lower trims and standard on higher ones.

Super Cruise is available on the Premier and High Country trims as part of the Advanced Technology Package. It can manage speed, steering, and lane changes on pre-mapped roads.

Should I buy a 2024 Chevrolet Suburban or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 39.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.59% compared with last year.
• It delivers a capable, capacious family-truckster formula with a strong expert verdict.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $64,403, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $56,998 average.
• It brings a major interior tech upgrade with a much larger touchscreen.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2024 is the smarter buy because prices are softer and inventory is healthy. If you care most about the newest tech and can stretch your budget, the 2025 is the better path.
