Used 2023 Fisker Ocean for Sale near Georgia
Building a car company from scratch is tough work. The costs of research and development, prototyping, and production are prohibitive, making it difficult for all but the largest companies to succeed with any regularity. Henrik Fisker knows this better than anyone, as he’s now on his second car company. This time around, however, Fisker is focusing on the future of mobility—EVs. The automaker’s new Ocean SUV debuted at the Los Angeles Auto Show this week with a sleek design, strong specs, and sustainable materials.
Fisker is the brain behind the BMW Z8, the Aston Martin DB9, and later, the failed automaker Fisker (the first one). Though the first iteration experienced a bumpy ride, the new, improved Fisker promises to be something completely different. Its first vehicle, the Ocean, is an electric crossover. It looks nothing like Fisker’s previous designs, the last of which now roams the roads under the name Karma Revero. The SUV features a 115-inch wheelbase and an overall length of 188 inches. The long wheelbase and overall length opens the cabin for excellent passenger and cargo space, though Fisker hasn’t elaborated on either yet.
Three trims will be available at launch: Sport, Ultra, and Extreme. The Sport trim gets a single motor and front-wheel drive for a starting price of $37,499 before destination fee and any applicable tax credits. Following the trend of many recent vehicle launches, the first 5,000 Ocean units built will be limited-run special edition models. The limited Ocean One edition starts at $68,999, and top trims of the vehicle will get a special solar charging roof that can add a claimed 2,000 miles of range every year for folks who live in especially sunny regions.
The entry-level Sport trim should deliver a range of around 250 miles, and Fisker says that its single-motor setup, with 275 horsepower, returns a 0-60 mph time of 6.9 seconds. The Ultra trim’s dual-motor setup bumps range to 340 miles and output to 540 horsepower. All-wheel drive is standard, and the strong powertrain can propel the Ocean to 60 mph from a standstill in 3.9 seconds. The Extreme trim gets an even longer range and quicker 0-60 mph time. The Sport trim can tow up to 2,040 pounds, while all others are rated at up to 4,000 pounds.
Fisker says the Ocean is capable of charging other vehicles and notes that the SUV can act as an emergency generator at home. With the exception of the Sport trim, all of the Ocean’s windows can roll down, and the roof opens wide for what Fisker calls California Mode. A host of advanced safety features come standard, including an active pilot assist function, blind spot monitoring, and automatic emergency braking.
The Fisker Ocean is available for reservations now. Production will start in November 2022 in Graz, Austria.
3.7 Overall rating
(9 reviews)Features: In terms of features, the car has enough to satisfy now, and if we can continue with updates, will be the ideal fit for our purposes. Value: Aside from the obvious issues with the company, the fact that we could buy a 70k dollar SUV-style EV for less than 30k was too tempting to pass up. Missing: Still TBD, but full bidirectional charging functionality, 4d radar for adaptive cruise control Other Models: Reminds us of our Lincoln MKX, but feels larger than the current comparables we were considering, like the Chevy Blazer or Ford Mach E
One of the best values hands down for what you get. That being said, knowing what you are getting yourself into and doing the research before making the purchase is key. If you can deal with some of the minor issues with software bugs you really get the equivalent of a Lamborgini Urus for the price of a carolla. If you arent tech savy and dont have experience working on vehicles yourself then I would suggest staying away. This vehicles really turns heads and it is definitely a conversation piece and everyone that has sat in the vehicle and looked at the features has been in love but then when I tell them the company went bankrupt they give you the side eye. lol Btw, I am predicting that this car will be a collectors item due to the supply vs demand and once people realize that the vast amount of reviews are from people who had investments with Fisker and they are lashing out because of the way the company exited and left them out to dry things will definitely get better, just look at the original teslas they have gone exponentially up in value.
Great Car abandoned by an irresponsible company. Left customers with no service. Sad ending to a great car that could have been finished with a few more software updates and upgraded parts.
Love it, premium aesthetics and paint colors. Just overall a pleasure to drive and look at.
It’s competes quite well against the Tesla, X , the BMW iX, the overpriced Mercedes-Benz, EQS 580 and the Audi Mercedes-Benz, EQS 580 and the Audi EQ8 . It beats them with range, and it is less expensive.
