Used 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 for Sale nearUtica, NY

How much does the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 cost?

Prices have softened 9.98% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 9,723 listings available, which suggests you should have a healthy range of trucks to compare.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 a good car?

Generally — the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 earns 4.36/5 from owners and 8.67/10 from our experts. The standout strength is Form and function at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise its fuel economy, power, comfort, and feature content, and many describe it as a solid value for the money. That lines up with the truck’s broad mission: it’s meant to work hard, commute comfortably, and bring enough tech to feel current.

The trade-offs are clear, though. The ride can feel rough compared with rivals, the front-end styling is polarizing, and the steering can feel numb at times.

With its mix of work-truck capability and daily-driver tech, it makes the most sense if you want one pickup to cover a lot of ground rather than a truck tuned for maximum refinement. Good and great deals account for 35.7% of listings, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.36/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a truck that feels dependable, with praise centered on its power, comfort, fuel economy, and overall value. That kind of recurring satisfaction usually matters more than a single feature when you’re trying to judge how a used truck will hold up in everyday ownership.

The expert evaluation also emphasizes that the Silverado is built to be a capable, versatile truck that can serve as a commuter, work vehicle, or trail-ready pickup. Its broad capability and straightforward tech setup support the idea that it’s designed for long-term use rather than short-term flash.

For used buyers, the main ownership risk is less about the truck’s mission and more about finding one that hasn’t been worked hard or neglected, so condition and maintenance history matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.

Start with the history report so you can confirm accident status, title history, and mileage consistency. Then prioritize a thorough inspection of the suspension, steering feel, brakes, tires, and cabin electronics, since those are the areas most likely to reveal how the truck was used. You should also pay close attention to trim-specific equipment, because the Silverado’s feature set changes a lot as you move up the lineup.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The WT and Custom use the older interior layout with a smaller screen and more hard controls, while every other trim gets a more modern, high-tech dash design. The WT is the most basic, with vinyl upholstery, bench front seating, rubberized flooring, and a 7-inch touchscreen, while the Custom adds cloth upholstery, wireless phone integration, 20-inch alloy wheels, remote start, and a power-locking tailgate.
• Powertrain: The base turbocharged 2.7-liter four-cylinder makes 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque, while available V8s and the Duramax turbodiesel broaden the lineup. Rear-wheel drive is standard, four-wheel drive is optional, and the 10-speed automatic is used with the non-base engines.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic high beams, lane-departure warning, and Teen Driver. LTZ adds blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, a surround-view camera system, rain-sensing wipers, and front and rear parking sensors.
• Infotainment: The WT and Custom use a 7-inch touchscreen with wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while most other trims get a 13.4-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto plus a fully digital instrument panel.
• Fuel efficiency: The turbodiesel inline-six with rear-wheel drive returns 24 mpg city, 29 mpg highway, and 26 mpg combined. The turbo-four returns 19 mpg city, 22 mpg highway, and 20 mpg combined, while the most efficient V8 setup returns 17 mpg city, 21 mpg highway, and 19 mpg combined.

Which 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 trim should I buy?

The 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is offered in 9 trim levels: WT, Custom, Custom Trail Boss, LT, RST, LT Trail Boss, LTZ, High Country, and ZR2.

Here's the short version:

• WT: This is the most basic choice, and it makes sense if you want the Silverado’s core capability at the lowest entry point. You get the work-truck setup with vinyl upholstery, a bench front seat, rubberized flooring, and the simpler 7-inch infotainment system.
• Custom: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds cloth upholstery, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, remote start, a power-locking tailgate, and more USB ports without jumping too far up the price ladder.
• Custom Trail Boss: Choose this if you want a more trail-ready setup, since it adds standard four-wheel drive with a two-speed transfer case, skid plates, and upgraded shock absorbers.
• LT: This is the point where the Silverado starts to feel much more modern, thanks to the larger infotainment setup, fully digital instrument panel, dual-zone climate control, and a power-adjustable driver’s seat.
• RST: Pick this if you want a more style-focused truck with 18-inch alloy wheels, fog lights, and unique visual touches.
• LT Trail Boss: This is the better choice if you want the LT’s upgraded cabin with the Trail Boss hardware and capability.
• LTZ: This is probably the best-value trim for creature comforts, adding leather upholstery, a power-operated tailgate, wireless device charging, and a power-adjustable front passenger seat.
• High Country: This is the luxury-leaning choice, with features like a power-sliding rear window and heated and ventilated front seats.
• ZR2: This is the most specialized off-road trim, and the new-for-2023 Bison package adds heavy-duty skid plates, steel-stamped bumpers, and more aggressive approach and departure angles.

The safety package starts with a strong standard feature set, and LTZ is the trim where you pick up several useful extras like blind-spot monitoring and a surround-view camera system.

• Inventory: There are 9,723 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.98% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $37,896, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500's resale value?

The current average of $37,896 sits slightly below last year's $42,098.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer now but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at a strong price and keep the truck in clean condition, you’ll be better positioned to protect value later.

The Silverado’s broad appeal helps support resale because it serves a wide range of buyers, from work-truck shoppers to people who want a comfortable daily driver. Trucks with strong owner satisfaction also tend to stay in demand, which can help cushion depreciation.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.36/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 safe?

The Silverado 1500 earns five-star ratings from NHTSA and fairly high scores in IIHS crash tests.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic high beams, lane-departure warning, and Teen Driver. If you move up to LTZ, you also get blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, a surround-view 360-degree camera system, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and front and rear parking sensors.

Available upgrades include adaptive cruise control, a head-up display, a rear-camera mirror, and GM’s Super Cruise highway driving system. That means the Silverado can be equipped very well, but some of the more advanced features are reserved for higher trims.

Should I buy a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 35.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.98% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.36/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• It adds Duramax diesel power upgrades and the new ZR2 Bison off-road trim.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $34,096, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $37,896 average.
• It brings a refreshed cabin and the first Silverado ZR2.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $41,228, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $37,896 average.
• It adds broader versatility and available Super Cruise on the top trim.

The bottom line: The 2023 is the right pick if you want a well-rounded Silverado with updated diesel power and a broader off-road story than older versions. If your priority is saving money, the 2022 is the smarter value play; if you want to spend more for a newer-feeling setup, the 2024 is the step up to compare.
