How much does the 2022 Tesla Model Y cost?

Prices are up 4.33% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 3,018 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2022 Tesla Model Y a good car?

Yes — the 4.82/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise the spacious interior, modern technology, smooth and quiet ride, and exceptional acceleration. That lines up well with the Model Y’s use case as a compact luxury crossover that gives you everyday practicality, generous cargo space, and EV convenience in one package. With 25.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop carefully.

Is the 2022 Tesla Model Y reliable?

Owners rate it 4.82/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The review summary also points to a dependable ownership experience in the sense that drivers appreciate the smooth, quiet driving feel and the convenience of not needing gas. That kind of feedback suggests the Model Y can be a trouble-free fit for buyers who want an EV they can count on day to day. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the specific vehicle has been well cared for and checked thoroughly before you commit.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Tesla Model Y?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any listing you like, even if it looks clean at first glance. Put inspection priority on the ride quality, interior condition, and how well the touchscreen-based controls and features work, since those are central to the ownership experience. It also makes sense to focus on overall condition and maintenance history, because that will matter more than mileage alone when you’re comparing used examples.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Tesla Model Y?

This is still a seller’s market, so you should act selectively and move quickly when you find a strong listing.

• Deal availability: 25.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,018 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 4.33% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 82.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $27,296, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Tesla Model Y's resale value?

The current average of $29,893 sits slightly above last year's $28,653.

That price movement suggests the Model Y has held buyer interest well, which is a positive sign if you plan to resell later. A year-over-year increase also tells you the market is still willing to pay for this model year, especially when the vehicle is in clean condition and priced competitively. Strong owner satisfaction can help support that demand over time, particularly for shoppers who want a used EV with broad appeal.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.82/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Tesla Model Y or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 25.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices are up 4.33% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.82/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2022 is a strong choice if you want the Model Y’s roomy cabin, modern tech, and strong owner approval in a year that still has meaningful inventory to shop. If you’re more price-sensitive, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2022 remains the better all-around path if you value a balance of demand, satisfaction, and market depth.
