How much does the 2022 Tesla Model Y cost?

Prices are up 4.09% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 3,085 listings available, which gives you a meaningful amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2022 Tesla Model Y a good car?

Yes — the 4.82/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its impressive performance, spacious interior, and modern technology, and many also like the smooth, quiet ride and the convenience of not needing gas. For you, that makes it a strong fit if you want a compact luxury crossover with SUV practicality, a roomy cabin, and a used EV experience that feels well equipped. With 28.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Tesla Model Y reliable?

Owners rate it 4.82/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The review summary also points to a dependable ownership experience centered on strong performance, quiet operation, and the convenience of electric driving. When owners repeatedly mention trouble-free daily use and long-term satisfaction, that usually suggests fewer surprises for used buyers who want confidence over time.

For you, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the specific vehicle has been cared for properly, since condition matters more when you’re buying a used EV with a lot of technology and touchscreen-dependent controls.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Tesla Model Y?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should start with the history report and confirm the car’s accident and title status before anything else. After that, prioritize a thorough inspection of the battery-related systems, charging equipment, tires, brakes, and suspension, since condition can vary widely from one used example to another. It also helps to focus on how well the touchscreen, driver-assistance features, and cabin electronics work, because those systems are central to the ownership experience.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Tesla Model Y?

This is a seller’s market, so you should act selectively and be ready to move when you find the right listing.

• Deal availability: 28.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,085 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 4.09% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 82.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $27,307, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Tesla Model Y's resale value?

The current average of $29,774 sits slightly above last year's $28,603.

That upward move suggests the market still values this model year well, which can help support resale strength if you buy carefully and keep the vehicle in good condition. The combination of strong demand, solid utility, and a large pool of interested EV shoppers can make it easier for you to find a buyer later. Pricing momentum also matters: when a model holds value while inventory remains active, future sellers often benefit from steadier demand.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.82/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Tesla Model Y or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 28.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices are up 4.09% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.82/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line:

The 2022 is the right path if you want a well-liked, well-equipped used Model Y with strong owner satisfaction and a market that still supports demand. If you’re more price-sensitive, a nearby year may be worth comparing for a lower entry cost, but the 2022 remains a compelling choice when you want a balance of value, inventory depth, and buyer confidence.
