Used 2022 Nissan Rogue for Sale near Iowa

How much does the 2022 Nissan Rogue cost?

Prices have softened 15.23% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

With 9,774 listings available, you have a healthy amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2022 Nissan Rogue a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Nissan Rogue earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.83/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Performance, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, Technology, and Safety.

That lines up with what you see in the vehicle itself: a two-row compact crossover with a modernized turbocharged engine, a new transmission, and a roomy cabin with strong packaging. It also brings standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus available driver-assist tech that helps it fit family-duty use well.

The market also shows 39.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Nissan Rogue reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2022 Rogue’s new 1.5-liter VC-Turbo engine and updated CVT give it a more modern mechanical setup, and the expert evaluation points to smooth, controlled road manners rather than a rough or fragile feel. The engine’s variable-compression design is presented as a way to balance power and efficiency, which supports everyday dependability if you keep up with routine maintenance.

If you’re buying used, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the turbocharged powertrain and transmission have been cared for properly.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Nissan Rogue?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper history review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on the powertrain, electronics, and any signs of uneven wear or prior body repair. Pay close attention to trim-specific equipment so you know exactly which features are present on the vehicle you’re considering.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The S, SV, SL, and Platinum trims build up from a more basic starting point to more comfort and convenience equipment, with the SL and Platinum adding LED foglamps. The upper trims also bring more upscale cabin presentation and more advanced screen equipment.
• Powertrain: The Rogue uses a 1.5-liter VC-Turbo inline three-cylinder engine with 201 horsepower and 225 lb-ft of torque, paired with a new CVT. It is described as more energetic than the previous setup and delivers 30 mpg city/37 mpg highway/33 mpg combined.
• Safety package: Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard across all trim levels and includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, high beam assist, and rear automatic braking. Blind spot intervention and traffic sign recognition are available, and ProPilot Assist adds steering assist and adaptive cruise control.
• Infotainment: The Rogue has a 9-inch center infotainment touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and wireless Apple CarPlay on upper trim levels. Upper trims also add a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel and a 10.8-inch head-up display.
• Fuel efficiency: The Rogue is rated at 30 mpg city, 37 mpg highway, and 33 mpg combined.

Which 2022 Nissan Rogue trim should I buy?

The 2022 Nissan Rogue is offered in 4 trim levels: S, SV, SL, Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the Rogue’s core space, safety tech, and efficiency without paying for extras you may not need.
• SV: This is the trim most shoppers should start with because it adds meaningful equipment without jumping all the way to the higher-priced models.
• SL: This is the best-value trim if you want the sweet spot in the lineup, especially with the available Premium Package that adds BOSE premium audio, navigation, and ProPilot Assist with Navi-Link.
• Platinum: Choose this if you want the most upscale Rogue, including the highest-end cabin and the most advanced screen and convenience features.

Safety Shield 360 is standard on every trim, so you do not need to move up the lineup just to get the core driver-assistance suite.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Nissan Rogue?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 39.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 9,774 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.23% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 86.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,600, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Nissan Rogue's resale value?

The current average of $19,600 sits slightly below last year's $23,122.

That price drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable point in the cycle. For a future seller, that also means resale value may depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim equipment rather than just model-year freshness.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Nissan Rogue safe?

The 2022 Nissan Rogue earns four-star ratings from NHTSA.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The Rogue comes standard with Nissan Safety Shield 360, which includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, high beam assist, and rear automatic braking. It also includes ten supplemental airbags, extended crumple zones, Intelligent Driver Alertness, and rear door alert. ProPilot Assist adds steering assist and adaptive cruise control, while the enhanced version with Navi-Link adds predictive speed control tied to navigation.

The main caveat is that IIHS crash testing for this model year had not yet been released in the source material.

Should I buy a 2022 Nissan Rogue or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 39.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.23% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds a new 1.5-liter VC-Turbo engine and updated transmission for better efficiency and stronger response.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $18,518, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $19,600 average.
• It’s the all-new redesign that established the Rogue’s more premium-feeling cabin and polished ride.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $22,048, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $19,600 average.
• It adds trim-specific updates like Midnight Edition styling and Amazon Alexa compatibility.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of updated powertrain, strong efficiency, and broad safety equipment, the 2022 is the primary pick. If your budget is tighter, the 2021 can save you money while still giving you the redesigned Rogue platform.
