CarGurus Analysis: 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLC
Summary
With 2,418 currently listed for sale and an average price of $29,015, 36.7% of 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLC listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLC 4.5 / 5 stars.
86.6% of 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLC listings on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLC stands out as a compact luxury SUV that looks much like an updated version of the first GLC, while adding Mercedes-Benz’s latest tech and powertrains. It shares many parts with the C-Class sedan and wagon, and it is slightly larger than before, with boot space that rose by 2.5 cu-ft. The result is a vehicle that aims to blend style, practicality, and a more modern cabin without losing the familiar GLC formula.
Inside, the 2022 GLC leans heavily into Mercedes-Benz’s newest design theme, with huge display screens, lots of ambient lighting, and a glitzy look. It is also very well equipped, with standard features including wireless device charging, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto support, heated and electrically adjustable front seats, MB-Tex upholstery, LED headlights, and driver-assistance features such as active braking and blind-spot assist. Higher trims add more luxury and convenience, including a Burmester sound system, navigation, surround view, a head-up display, insulated glass, and Digital Light headlights.
The engine lineup is broad and fully electrified, starting with the GLC 300’s 2.0-liter inline-four gas engine with mild-hybrid tech and 255 horsepower, available with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The AMG models bring much more performance, with the AMG GLC 43 rated at 416 horsepower and the AMG GLC 63 S E Performance at 671 horsepower, while both get rear-wheel steering and standard all-wheel drive. The GLC 350e 4Matic plug-in hybrid adds a 134-horsepower electric motor, 313 horsepower in total, and an electric-only range of 54 miles. Its main drawbacks are familiar to Mercedes-Benz shoppers: some versions are expensive, and the brand’s reliability record is not especially strong.

Like the way it drives. Hate that most of the controls (esp. radio) are all touch screen. You have to take your eyes off the road to change radio stations (no up / down on the steering wheel). All switching between radio, nav, phone, etc involve looking at a screen and usually involve a touch to the screen, a touch pad scroll, plus another button to push ... while driving. No compass. This car looks a little snazzier, but my Toyota Highlander had much nice and more intuitive features in the interior.

How much does the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLC cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $28,995 |
| Year-Round Low | $28,995 |
| Year-Round High | $32,229 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $32,233 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −10.05% |
Prices have softened 10.05% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 2,418 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing trims and prices.
Is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLC a good car?
Yes — the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLC earns a 4.5/5 user rating, and its overview points to a compact luxury SUV that blends style, practicality, and a more modern cabin. It also brings a broad engine lineup, a well-equipped interior, and a familiar GLC formula that should fit you well if you want a premium SUV with everyday usability. The market also looks reasonably favorable, with 37.3% of listings marked as good or great deals.
Is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLC reliable?
Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The overview also notes that Mercedes-Benz reliability is not especially strong, so you should expect to be selective about condition and maintenance history. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is more about upkeep discipline than the basic appeal of the vehicle itself.
What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLC?
Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
You should prioritize a history report first, then focus on a pre-purchase inspection that checks electronics, interior features, and overall wear. Because this model leans heavily on advanced tech and luxury equipment, condition matters as much as mileage. Pay close attention to how well the cabin features, driver-assistance systems, and infotainment components are working.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLC?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to compare listings carefully.
- Deal availability: 37.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 2,418 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 10.05% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 86.5% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $28,995, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLC's resale value?
The current average of $28,995 sits slightly below last year's $32,233.
That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy at a better entry point today. For a future seller, the softer pricing means resale upside may depend more on condition, mileage, and equipment than on broad market momentum. Well-kept examples should still attract interest because the model sits in a popular luxury SUV segment.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLC or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2022 if:
- 37.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 10.05% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2021 if:
- At $25,717, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $28,995 average.
- It emphasizes an upscale cabin, advanced tech, and comfortable driving dynamics.
Consider the 2023 if:
- At $37,647, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $28,995 average.
- It adds a more refined cabin and a comfort-focused, fuel-efficient feel.
The bottom line: The 2022 is the best all-around choice if you want a newer-feeling GLC with a softer price than the 2023 and stronger tech than the 2021. If you are especially price-sensitive, the 2021 is the value play; if you want the newest cabin and can stretch your budget, the 2023 is the upgrade path.
