About 2022 Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid
The 2022 Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid is an efficient compact hatchback that’s big on value. It provides a ton of standard features for its base price, which undercuts the de-facto hybrid option, the Toyota Prius. The Ioniq was introduced for the 2017 model year and received a 2020 update, which carries over to 2022. Buyers can select one of four trims: Blue, SE, SEL, and Limited. The entry-level Blue trim comes equipped with 15-inch wheels, push-button start, keyless entry, dual-zone automatic climate control, a pair of USB ports, and HD radio. It also comes standard with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system that includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Moving up to the SE trim adds regenerative braking, which aids in stop-and-go driving, plus heated front seats, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, and satellite radio. The SEL gets additional features such as 17-inch wheels, LED headlights, wireless device charging, and a power sunroof. The range-topping Limited trim adds leather upholstery, an upgraded 8-speaker stereo, and a 10.25-inch touchscreen with navigation. The heart of the Ioniq is its hybrid powertrain, which combines a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine with battery power and an electric motor. This combination is good for 139 horsepower and 125 pound-feet of torque. Power is routed to the front wheels through a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. In terms of fuel economy, the Ioniq Blue returns 48 mpg city, 60 highway, and 59 combined. Each of the other three trim levels returns 54 city, 57 highway, and 55 combined. Standard safety features on the Ioniq include automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, automatic high beams, and driver attention alert. The SE adds blind-spot monitoring and the SEL adds adaptive cruise control. The Limited adds front-and-rear parking sensors and the Highway Driving Assistant, which can follow the flow of traffic. The 2022 Hyundai Ioniq has a base MSRP of $23,600 for the Blue trim. The Ioniq SE starts at $25,550, and the SEL fetches $28,800. The range-topping Limited starts at $31,600. The Hyundai Ioniq is backed by a generous 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty.
