The 2022 Ferrari F8 Tributo is a celebration…of itself. The “Tributo” name means “tribute” and is meant to honor the decades of Ferrari mid-engined supercars. The Tributo designation is for the coupe F8, while the roadster goes by F8 Spider. The F8 was developed from the 488, which, in turn, was developed from the 458. Introduced for the 2020 model year, it carries over largely unchanged.

The “Tributo” name is also meant to honor the most powerful V8 engine in Ferrari’s history. The beating heart of this Prancing Horse is Ferrari’s twin-turbocharged 3.9-liter V8 engine, which makes 710 horsepower and 568 pound-feet of torque. Power is routed to the rear wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission with steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters. The F8 can rocket from zero to sixty mph in just 2.9 seconds on the way to a top speed of 211 mph.

EPA fuel economy for the F8 Tributo is 15 mpg city, 19 highway, and 16 combined. The Spider returns almost the same fuel economy, but highway efficiency drops to 18 mpg.

The F8 features an adjustable suspension system that can alter between corner-carving scalpel and composed long-hauler with the flip of a switch. The race-inspired steering wheel features the start-stop button and a drive mode selector. Drivers can select Wet, Sport, and Race modes, as well as modes that shut off various driver aids.

More than just an impressive chassis and powertrain, the F8 masters road and track alike thanks to its advanced aerodynamics. Every spoiler, intake, and air duct is functional, including the rear spoiler, which wraps around the taillights.

The F8 Tributo features a cutting-edge, driver-focused cockpit. You won’t find any of the infotainment features in the center of the dash. Rather, they are baked into the instrument panel, as two digital screens flank the traditional tachometer dial. The right screen includes radio, phone, navigation, and other vehicle settings. It is operated via a toggle panel directly to the right of the instrument panel.

The single passenger can also get in on the fun, thanks to a small touchscreen on the far right portion of the dash. The passenger can toggle through navigation, media, and performance and even monitor vehicle dynamics settings.

The F8 comes with four airbags, a backup camera, an exceptionally advanced traction control system, and ABS brakes. That’s it from a safety standpoint.
