How much does the 2021 Tesla Model Y cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

There are 2,080 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2021 Tesla Model Y a good car?

Yes — the 4.91/5 user rating points to very strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its electric nature, advanced technology, and fun driving dynamics, and many also highlight its eco-friendliness and performance. For you, that makes it a compelling choice if you want a practical electric crossover with a roomy cabin and a strong feature set. With 30.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop carefully.

Is the 2021 Tesla Model Y reliable?

Owners rate it 4.91/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many drivers, with praise centered on the vehicle’s electric nature and the confidence that comes from its long-term appeal. That said, used buyers should still think about battery health, software behavior, and overall condition as part of the ownership picture. A careful pre-purchase check matters because even a well-liked EV can carry long-term risk if it has been poorly maintained or heavily used.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Tesla Model Y?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 81.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still review the history report carefully and confirm there are no gaps in service or signs of prior damage. Put inspection priority on the battery, charging equipment, tires, brakes, and any signs that the touchscreen-based controls or driver-assistance systems are not working as expected. Focus on overall condition and how the vehicle has been used, since that can matter as much as mileage on a used EV.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Tesla Model Y?

This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting a deep bargain on every listing.

• Deal availability: 30.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,080 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 81.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $24,722, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Tesla Model Y's resale value?

The current average of $26,673 sits slightly above last year's $26,541.

That small increase suggests the market has stayed relatively stable, which is helpful if you plan to resell later. A steady price pattern can support confidence that the model still has broad appeal without showing signs of a sharp drop in demand. For you, that means a well-kept example should remain easier to move than a vehicle with a weaker market profile.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.91/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2021 Tesla Model Y or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 30.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 81.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.91/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2021 is a strong primary choice if you want a used Model Y with stable pricing, strong owner approval, and a healthy pool of listings to compare. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on whichever one gives you the best combination of condition, history, and asking price.
