Used 2020 Toyota Camry for Sale nearColumbia, SC

How much does the 2020 Toyota Camry cost?

Prices have softened 3.20% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,149 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for comparison shopping.

Is the 2020 Toyota Camry a good car?

Yes — you’re looking at a 4.71/5 user-rated car with an expert score of 7.5/10. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

Drivers consistently praise its reliability, comfort, and great fuel economy, and many also like its stylish design and smooth ride. On the flip side, some owners want more horsepower and more advanced tech, including all-wheel drive, and a few note that the newer technology takes some getting used to.

That lines up with the broader appeal of this Camry: it’s aimed at shoppers who want a well-equipped midsize sedan that feels premium without chasing luxury-car pricing. With 31.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, there’s also a decent amount of market flexibility if you’re shopping carefully.

Is the 2020 Toyota Camry reliable?

Owners rate it 4.71/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback points to reliability, and the expert evaluation reinforces that this is a car you can count on for everyday use. ToyotaCare also includes free maintenance for two years or 25,000 miles, which helps reduce early ownership hassle.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure the specific car you choose has been maintained properly and hasn’t picked up avoidable wear or damage.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Toyota Camry?

At 55.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has been in a collision or shows signs of uneven wear. Focus on body condition, tire wear, interior condition, and whether the features you want are actually present on the trim you’re considering.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lower trims emphasize value, while higher trims add more premium materials and equipment. The base setup can leave you without some of the nicer comfort and convenience features, so make sure the trim matches your expectations.
• Powertrain: You can choose between a 2.5-liter four-cylinder with front-wheel drive, the same engine with all-wheel drive, and a 3.5-liter V6. The four-cylinder is the efficiency-minded choice, while the V6 is smoother and stronger but less economical.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense is standard and includes pre-collision braking with pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning with steering assist, and automatic high beams. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is optional, so check whether a specific car has it.
• Infotainment: Lower trims use a 7-inch screen, with an optional 8-inch upgrade. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and some trims add Remote Connect and a larger driver display.
• Fuel efficiency: The front-drive four-cylinder XLE and XSE are rated at 31 mpg combined, AWD drops that to 28 mpg, and front-drive V6 models return 26 mpg combined. The TRD is rated at 25 mpg.

Which 2020 Toyota Camry trim should I buy?

The 2020 Toyota Camry is offered in 7 trim levels: L, LE, SE, SE Nightshade, XLE, XSE, and TRD.

Here's the short version:

• L: This is the most stripped-down version, and the content makes clear that it’s best avoided because stepping up to the LE brings a better overall value proposition.
• LE: This is the best-value starting point if you want a sensible Camry with the core equipment most shoppers expect, and it’s the trim that makes the lineup feel properly balanced.
• SE: This is the better pick if you want a sportier look and upgraded interior trimmings, including synthetic leather seats instead of cloth.
• SE Nightshade: Choose this if you want the SE’s equipment with blacked-out exterior trim and black 18-inch wheels for a more distinctive appearance.
• XLE: This is the sweet spot for shoppers who want a more upscale feel, with leather upholstery, dual-zone climate control, and the upgraded audio and infotainment setup.
• XSE: This is the sportier premium choice, pairing the nicer equipment with a more expressive personality and available remote services.
• TRD: This is the enthusiast trim, with the 301-horsepower V6, lowered suspension, beefed-up brakes, and high-performance tires, but it rides firmer than most Camry buyers will want.

Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is optional, so it’s worth prioritizing a trim or package that includes it.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Toyota Camry?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory and pricing softness to reward careful shopping.

• Deal availability: 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,149 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.20% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 55.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,623, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Toyota Camry's resale value?

The current average of $20,173 sits slightly below last year's $20,840.

That softer pricing suggests the market has become a bit more buyer-friendly, which can work against short-term resale gains if you’re planning to sell soon. Still, the Camry’s broad appeal and strong reputation help support demand, especially for well-kept examples with desirable equipment.

If you buy smart and keep the car in strong condition, you should still have a relatively easy time finding interested shoppers later. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.71/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Toyota Camry safe?

The 2020 Toyota Camry earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA and Top Safety Pick+ recognition from IIHS.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota Safety Sense is standard and includes a pre-collision system with emergency braking and pedestrian detection, dynamic radar adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning with steering assist, and automatic high beams. Every Camry also includes 10 airbags, stability control, a backup camera, and a one-year trial of Safety Connect.

Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is optional, so you’ll want to confirm whether a used example has that added protection. Higher trims can also add Bird’s Eye View for a 360-degree parking perspective.

Should I buy a 2020 Toyota Camry or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 55.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.20% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.71/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Toyota added all-wheel drive and the TRD trim for 2020, broadening the Camry’s appeal.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $18,922, the 2019 costs less than the current year's $20,173 average.
• It offers strong safety and free scheduled maintenance.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $21,776, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $20,173 average.
• It adds updated infotainment and a newer driver-aid package.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of price, inventory, and updated features, the 2020 is the smart default. If your budget is tighter, the 2019 can save you money, while the 2021 makes sense if you want the newer tech and are willing to pay more.
