Used 2020 Kia Telluride for Sale nearCharlotte, NC

How much does the 2020 Kia Telluride cost?

Prices have softened 10.62% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,167 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of used Tellurides to compare.

Is the 2020 Kia Telluride a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Kia Telluride earns a 4.82/5 user rating and an 8.33/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise the spacious interior, value for money, and comfortable ride. They also highlight the impressive features and high safety ratings, which makes this SUV especially appealing if you want a family hauler that feels upscale without a luxury badge.

The expert notes back that up with strong value and a roomy cabin, especially for shoppers who want the most space, technology, and amenities in the three-row class. The main trade-off is an irritating transmission, which keeps the driving experience from feeling fully polished.

Good and great deals account for 37.5% of listings, so there’s still meaningful room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 Kia Telluride reliable?

Owners rate it 4.82/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable in daily use, with many shoppers describing it as a smart long-term family choice. The review summary also emphasizes its comfortable ride and strong value, both of which usually matter when you plan to keep a vehicle for years.

The expert notes reinforce that impression with a roomy, well-equipped cabin and a powertrain that gets the SUV moving confidently once it responds. The cost-effectiveness notes also make clear that the Telluride delivers a lot of equipment for the money, which can help ownership feel worthwhile over time.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the concept and more about finding one that has been maintained well and hasn’t been worn down by family-duty mileage.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Kia Telluride?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 75.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on every candidate, even if the listing looks clean at first glance. Prioritize a careful inspection of the transmission behavior, interior wear, and any signs that the SUV has been used heavily as a family hauler. Focus on condition, because this model’s value depends heavily on how well it has aged.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Lower trims delete the silver interior coloring, simplify the climate-control presentation, and downsize both the dash and instrument-panel screens. Upper trims add more upscale details, including LED running lights that also serve as turn signals.
• Powertrain: The Telluride uses a 3.8-liter V6 with 291 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic. AWD is available on every trim, and the transmission can feel delayed and inconsistent.
• Safety package: Forward-collision alert with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert and automatic braking, lane-keep assist, a driver-attention monitor, adaptive cruise control, and Safe Exit Assist all come standard. Surround-view cameras and front parking sensors are optional.
• Infotainment: Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Kia’s UVO link, and a proximity key come standard. Upper trims with navigation add fast and accurate voice inputs, and the system can search online like Google Maps.
• Fuel efficiency: EPA-estimated fuel economy is 19 mpg city, 24 highway, and 21 combined. FWD models return 20/26/23.

Which 2020 Kia Telluride trim should I buy?

The 2020 Kia Telluride is offered in 2 trim levels: LX and SX.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Telluride’s core space, style, and standard safety tech at the lowest price. It makes sense if you want the SUV’s fundamentals and plan to keep the budget tight.
• SX: This is the fully loaded choice, with the richest feature set and the most premium feel. It suits you if you want the most upscale version and don’t mind paying for it.

The best-value trim is the AWD EX mentioned in the cost-effectiveness notes, but that trim name is not part of the explicit trim roster here. Safety equipment is standard across the lineup, while surround-view cameras and front parking sensors remain optional.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Kia Telluride?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on strong listings.

• Deal availability: 37.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,167 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.62% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 75.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,671, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Kia Telluride's resale value?

The current average of $19,671 sits slightly below last year's $22,010.

That price drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable point in the cycle. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim desirability rather than broad market momentum alone.

Because the Telluride is still drawing strong shopper interest, a clean example with the right equipment should remain easier to move than a neglected one. If you buy well and keep it in good shape, you’ll be better positioned when it’s time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.82/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Kia Telluride safe?

The 2020 Kia Telluride is too new to have been crash-tested by NHTSA or IIHS, but it comes standard with a broad set of active safety features.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard equipment includes forward-collision alert with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert and automatic braking, lane-keep assist, a driver-attention monitor, adaptive cruise control, and Safe Exit Assist. Surround-view cameras and front parking sensors are optional, and the front passenger does not get a knee airbag.

Should I buy a 2020 Kia Telluride or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 37.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 75.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.62% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.82/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It delivers standout value, a spacious cabin, and a premium-feeling interior without a luxury badge.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $23,041, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $19,671 average.
• It adds a Nightfall Edition package and a remote engine-start button.

The bottom line: If you want the better bargain, the 2020 is the smarter buy because it already delivers the Telluride’s core strengths at a lower average price. If you’re willing to pay more for a few modest updates and a newer model year, the 2021 is the cleaner alternative.
