Used 2020 Ford Expedition for Sale nearFort Lauderdale, FL

How much does the 2020 Ford Expedition cost?

Prices have softened 14.17% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,421 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2020 Ford Expedition a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Ford Expedition earns a 4.79/5 user rating and an 8.67/10 expert rating. The model scores 10/10 across Form and function and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its spacious cabin, luxurious feel, and powerful engine, and many also like the advanced features it brings. The main trade-offs are its pricey nature and the fact that some shoppers expected better fuel economy.

That lines up with the Expedition’s use case: you’re getting a full-size family SUV built for people who need space, cargo room, and towing ability in one vehicle. With 35.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, there’s still room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 Ford Expedition reliable?

Owners rate it 4.79/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable in daily family use, with repeated praise for its spaciousness and the confidence that comes from its strong powertrain. The expert evaluation also emphasizes that the Expedition’s underlying engineering is robust, which supports the idea that it can stay on the road for a long time.

The ownership trade-off is that a large SUV like this can be expensive to keep running, especially if you do not regularly use its towing and hauling strengths.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Ford Expedition?

At 74.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a careful inspection of bodywork, alignment, and signs of prior repair. Because this is a large, expensive SUV, condition matters a lot, especially if you want to avoid paying top dollar for a truck that has already taken a hit.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lower-level XLT trim has a lot of hard plastic inside, while the King Ranch and Platinum trims bring a more upscale feel. If you want the best-value balance, focus on the trim that gives you the equipment you care about without pushing you into the highest-priced cabin materials.
• Powertrain: Every model uses a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 with 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic. Rear-wheel drive is standard, and four-wheel drive is optional.
• Safety package: Ford Co-Pilot360 is standard, with adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic warning, lane-departure warning, and lane-keeping assistance.
• Infotainment: You get an 8-inch touchscreen with Sync 3, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, FordPass Connect with a 4G LTE WiFi hotspot, navigation, an available premium Bang & Olufsen sound system, rear-seat entertainment, and Pro Trailer Backup Assist.
• Fuel efficiency: The expert review cites 19 mpg as the official EPA rating for the rear-wheel-drive King Ranch, and the test vehicle averaged 17.7 mpg.

Which 2020 Ford Expedition trim should I buy?

The 2020 Ford Expedition is offered in 3 trim levels: XLT, King Ranch, Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• XLT: This is the trim to target if you want the Expedition’s core strengths at the lowest entry point. It gives you the full-size space, towing ability, and standard safety tech, but the cabin materials are the most basic in the lineup.
• King Ranch: This is the best-value choice if you want a more upscale feel without going all the way to the top. It adds distinctive styling, special leather, and standard adaptive damping suspension, making it the most appealing blend of luxury and capability.
• Platinum: Choose this if you want the most conventionally luxurious Expedition experience and are willing to pay for it. It sits at the top of the range and is aimed at buyers who care most about premium cabin presentation.

Ford Co-Pilot360 is standard, so you do not need to move up a trim just to get the core driver-assistance suite.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Ford Expedition?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay patient.

• Deal availability: 35.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,421 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.17% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 74.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $26,123, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Ford Expedition's resale value?

The current average of $26,123 sits slightly below last year's $30,435.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer but may pressure resale returns if you plan to sell soon. For a future owner, the key is to buy well and avoid overpaying, because a softer market can make it harder to recover a premium later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.79/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Ford Expedition safe?

The 2020 Ford Expedition earns five-star ratings in every NHTSA test plus a four-star rollover resistance rating.

It earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.

Ford Co-Pilot360 is standard, and it includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic warning, lane-departure warning, and lane-keeping assistance. The system is described as smooth, accurate, and subtle in use.

One caveat is that the IIHS had not tested this model at the time of the review, so you are relying on NHTSA results and the standard driver-assistance package rather than a full IIHS scorecard.

Should I buy a 2020 Ford Expedition or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 35.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 74.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.17% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.79/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines huge passenger space, strong towing ability, and standard Ford Co-Pilot360 safety tech.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $30,366, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $26,123 average.
• It adds a more competitive full-size SUV alternative with updated appeal for shoppers who want the newer model year.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2020 is the smarter buy because prices have eased and the core strengths remain intact. If you are willing to pay more for the newer model year, the 2021 is the cleaner path for shoppers who want to stay closer to the latest version.
