Used 2018 Subaru Outback for Sale nearNaples, FL

How much does the 2018 Subaru Outback cost?

Prices have softened 7.05% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,472 listings available, which suggests a healthy amount of inventory for you to compare.

Is the 2018 Subaru Outback a good car?

Yes — the 2018 Subaru Outback earns a 4.67/5 user rating and an 8/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise the smooth ride, strong safety features, and ample cargo space. The Outback also fits your needs well if you want a practical, capable vehicle that can handle a wide range of driving situations without feeling flashy or overcomplicated.

That said, some owners point to navigation and infotainment frustrations, along with limited interior lighting, so the appeal is strongest if you value usefulness, comfort, and versatility over tech polish. With 32.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still room to shop selectively.

Is the 2018 Subaru Outback reliable?

Owners rate it 4.67/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable and trouble-free in everyday use, with repeated praise for its smooth ride, safety, and cargo utility. The expert commentary also reinforces that this is a vehicle built for long-term usefulness, especially if you want something you can count on for varied driving conditions.

The 2018 Outback’s practical design and strong safety focus make it a sensible used buy, though you should still watch for wear items and condition differences because some examples will have seen a lot of daily use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Subaru Outback?

At 68% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from those with collision records or repeated claims. After that, prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on suspension condition, interior wear, and the operation of the infotainment and driver-assistance features.

Pay close attention to how the vehicle drives over rough pavement, since comfort and composure are part of the Outback’s appeal. If you plan to use it for family duty or long trips, make sure the cabin equipment works the way you expect before you commit.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base trim comes with standard all-wheel drive and a CVT, while higher trims add more equipment and refinement. The 2.5i Premium is the best-value choice if you want a stronger mix of features without jumping too far up the price ladder.
• Powertrain: The 2.5-liter 4-cylinder makes 175 horsepower and 174 lb-ft of torque, while the available 3.6-liter 6-cylinder makes 256 horsepower and 247 lb-ft of torque. The 6-cylinder is the better choice if you want stronger acceleration.
• Safety package: EyeSight is available on every Outback except the base trim, and it adds adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability plus lane-keeping assist. That trim-level gap matters if safety tech is a priority.
• Infotainment: Starlink uses an 8-inch display, and this year it gains faster start-up and response times, better voice recognition, new on-screen applications, and over-the-air software updates.
• Fuel efficiency: The 2.5i is rated at 28 mpg in combined driving, while the 3.6R is rated at 22 mpg.

Which 2018 Subaru Outback trim should I buy?

The 2018 Subaru Outback is offered in 6 trim levels: base model, 2.5i Premium, 2.5i Limited, 2.5i Touring, 3.6R Limited, 3.6R Touring.

Here's the short version:

• base model: This is the entry point, but it is the least equipped version and it does not get EyeSight. You should only choose it if price matters more than convenience and driver-assistance features.
• 2.5i Premium: This is the best-value trim because it adds more everyday comfort and is the trim the cost-effectiveness guidance points to as the sweet spot, especially with the optional EyeSight package.
• 2.5i Limited: Choose this if you want a more upscale cabin and more equipment than the Premium, but you do not need the stronger 6-cylinder engine.
• 2.5i Touring: This is the most comfort-focused 2.5i trim, so it makes sense if you want the most features without moving to the larger engine.
• 3.6R Limited: This is the minimum trim you need if you want the 6-cylinder engine, and it is the right pick if stronger power matters more than keeping the price down.
• 3.6R Touring: Pick this if you want the 6-cylinder engine and the most fully equipped version of the Outback.

EyeSight is available on every Outback except the base trim, so that gap is worth factoring into your decision.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Subaru Outback?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,472 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.05% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 68.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $15,802, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Subaru Outback's resale value?

The current average of $15,802 sits slightly below last year's $16,999.

That softer pricing suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable point if you plan to keep the vehicle for several years. For a future seller, that also means resale value will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle has been maintained.

Because the Outback has broad appeal and strong owner satisfaction, well-kept examples should remain easier to move than neglected ones. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2018 Subaru Outback safe?

The 2018 Subaru Outback earns five-star ratings across the board from the federal government, except for rollover resistance, which rates four stars due to the Outback’s raised suspension. It also earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

It earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.

EyeSight is the named driver-assistance suite, and it uses a dual-camera system behind the windshield. Its standard functions include adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability and lane-keeping assist, and Subaru also offers reverse automatic braking as part of its broader safety technology set.

The main caveat is the four-star rollover result, which is tied to the vehicle’s higher ride height. Even so, the overall safety picture is very strong for used-car shoppers.

Should I buy a 2018 Subaru Outback or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 68% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.05% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.67/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2018 model year brings updated bumpers, lights, grille, quieter cabin changes, and improved Starlink performance.

The bottom line: If you want a used Outback with strong safety, solid owner satisfaction, and a lower average price than last year, the 2018 is a sensible target. If you are especially price-sensitive, you can still shop this year confidently, but you should focus on clean-history examples and prioritize the 2.5i Premium or a well-equipped 3.6R if power matters more to you.
