The Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 is essentially the crossover SUV equivalent of the Mercedes-Benz C300 sedan: A competent, comfortable, pleasant-to-drive vehicle in what most people would consider to be a midsize form factor. The GLC 300 is now into its second generation, after it was unveiled in June of 2022 as a 2023 model year. We’re focused on the first generation, which was available between the 2016 and 2022 model years. The GLC 300 is powered by the same turbocharged two-liter inline four-cylinder engine as the C 300, and similarly is available in rear-wheel drive or Mercedes-Benz’s 4MATIC all-wheel drive. The vast majority of GLC 300s are all-wheel drive. Regardless of the wheels driven, the GLC 300 has the nine-speed 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission.
