Used 2018 Land Rover Range Rover Velar for Sale nearAlexandria, LA

How much does the 2018 Land Rover Range Rover Velar cost?

Prices have softened 14.85% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 398 listings available, which gives you a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2018 Land Rover Range Rover Velar a good car?

The 2018 Land Rover Range Rover Velar is a mixed but appealing choice if you value style and luxury more than all-around practicality. It earns a 3.67/5 user rating and a 7.33/10 expert rating, which fits its upscale, design-first personality.

The standout strength is Look and feel at 9/10.

Owners repeatedly praise its stunning design, beautiful interior, luxury features, and versatile driving modes. That lines up with the Velar’s role as a more pavement-friendly Range Rover aimed at buyers who want a luxury SUV with a distinctive look and a smooth driving experience.

Only 35.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so you may need to shop carefully to find the strongest value.

Is the 2018 Land Rover Range Rover Velar reliable?

The 2018 Land Rover Range Rover Velar is best approached as a style-forward luxury SUV rather than a low-drama long-term ownership pick. Owner feedback includes concerns about reliability, and some drivers also noted cosmetic damage in inspected vehicles.

The expert driving notes point to a vehicle that feels solid and composed, with a rigid aluminum-intensive structure and a laid-back road character. That said, the same evaluation also highlights software bugs and frustrating errors in the infotainment system, which can affect day-to-day dependability.

For used buyers, that means your biggest long-term risk is not just mechanical wear but also the possibility of expensive ownership headaches tied to electronics and condition history.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Land Rover Range Rover Velar?

At 72.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you get too far into the process, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that checks for prior bodywork, cosmetic damage, and any signs of neglected maintenance. Because this is a luxury SUV with a reputation for mixed reliability feedback, condition matters more than mileage alone. Focus on how the electronics, interior surfaces, and driving systems behave during a test drive.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base version is less well-appointed than higher-spec examples, and the more expensive trims add a richer luxury experience with more advanced hardware and features.
• Powertrain: You get a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 with 380 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque, a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 247 hp and 269 lb-ft, or a turbodiesel four-cylinder with 180 hp and 317 lb-ft. The diesel is the efficiency play, while the V6 is the strongest and most desirable choice.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes auto braking with pedestrian detection, forward-collision alert, lane-departure warning, and blind-spot monitoring. The lane-keep assist does not actively steer the vehicle.
• Infotainment: The system uses InControl Touch Pro, with onboard Wi-Fi, live weather, news, sports scores, and traffic. The software can be buggy, with freezing screens and other glitches.

Which 2018 Land Rover Range Rover Velar trim should I buy?

The 2018 Land Rover Range Rover Velar is offered in 3 trim levels: P250, P180, P380.

Here's the short version:

• P180: This is the efficiency-focused choice, with the turbodiesel engine and strong low-end torque. It makes the most sense if you want smoother everyday response and better fuel economy than the gasoline V6.
• P250: This is the entry point and the only base trim available with the gasoline four-cylinder. It gives you the Velar experience at the lowest starting price, but it is the least compelling choice if you want the full luxury feel.
• P380: This is the best-value trim if you want the Velar at its most satisfying. It adds the supercharged V6 with 380 horsepower, stronger performance, and the richer driving character that suits the SUV’s upscale mission.

Safety equipment includes auto braking with pedestrian detection, forward-collision alert, lane-departure warning, and blind-spot monitoring, but the lane-keep assist does not actively steer the vehicle.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Land Rover Range Rover Velar?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully and wait for the right listing.

• Deal availability: 35.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 398 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.85% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 72.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,353, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Land Rover Range Rover Velar's resale value?

The current average of $19,391 sits slightly below last year's $22,772.

That decline suggests the Velar has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help you as a buyer today. If you plan to sell later, though, you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, service history, and how well the vehicle’s electronics and interior hold up over time.

Because this is a luxury SUV with mixed reliability feedback, a clean history and strong maintenance records should matter more than usual when it comes time to resell. A well-kept example should be easier to move than one with accident history or visible wear.

Is the 2018 Land Rover Range Rover Velar safe?

The 2018 Land Rover Range Rover Velar has not been rated by NHTSA or IIHS.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes auto braking with pedestrian detection, forward-collision alert, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, and a Low Traction Launch system. The lane-keep assist does not actively steer the vehicle, so you should not expect semi-autonomous capability.

The structure is described as rigid and aluminum-intensive, which supports the impression of a solid crashworthy design, but you should still pay close attention to the vehicle’s actual condition and any prior damage when shopping used.

Should I buy a 2018 Land Rover Range Rover Velar or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 35.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 72.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.85% compared with last year.
• The 2018 stands out as an all-new, pavement-friendly Range Rover with a strong style-first identity and a luxury-focused driving feel.

The bottom line: If you want the Velar’s distinctive design and upscale road manners, the 2018 is a sensible place to shop because prices have already come down and inventory is available. If you’re especially price-sensitive, focus on the cleanest, best-documented example you can find rather than chasing the cheapest listing.
