How much does the 2018 GMC Acadia cost?

Prices have softened 11.09% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,783 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2018 GMC Acadia a good car?

Yes — the 2018 GMC Acadia earns a 4.79/5 user rating and a 7.17/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Form and function and Safety.

Owners consistently praise the spacious, comfortable cabin, the roomy layout, and the feature-rich interior. The review summary also points to a safe driving experience and a family-friendly feel, which fits the Acadia’s three-row crossover role well.

With its three-row setup and broader V6 availability, it works especially well if you want a family SUV that can better handle everyday driving and towing needs. The market also shows 34.1% of listings as good or great deals, which adds to the appeal if you’re shopping carefully.

Is the 2018 GMC Acadia reliable?

Owners rate it 4.79/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable, comfortable, and family-friendly vehicle that many people feel good about living with over time. The expert notes also emphasize that the V6 is more than up to the task of motivating the Acadia, which helps support confidence in day-to-day use.

The main long-term ownership risk for used buyers is making sure you choose a well-maintained example, especially if you want to avoid the weaker four-cylinder setup and the wear that can come with higher-mileage family use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 GMC Acadia?

At 61.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on family-hauler examples that may have seen heavy daily use. Focus on overall condition, signs of prior bodywork, and whether the equipment level matches what you expect for the price.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The SL trim is the most basic version, with the 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and front-wheel drive only, while the SLE adds all-wheel drive availability and the V6 option. Higher trims add more comfort and convenience, and the SLT and Denali versions bring much richer equipment.
• Powertrain: The 2.5-liter engine is described as inadequate for anything beyond commuter duty, while the 3.6-liter V6 delivers 310 hp and 271 lb-ft of torque and is the better choice for towing or hauling.
• Safety package: The Driver Alert I package adds blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking sensors, while Driver Alert II adds lane-keep assist, auto high beams, front parking sensors, and low-speed forward-collision warning with auto braking. Some of these features are trim-dependent.
• Infotainment: The base setup includes a 7-inch touchscreen with Intellilink, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, while the Denali upgrades to an 8-inch touchscreen with navigation and virtual gauges.
• Fuel efficiency: The 2.5-liter engine returns 21 mpg city and 26 highway, while the V6 returns 17 mpg city, 25 highway, and 20 combined.

Which 2018 GMC Acadia trim should I buy?

The 2018 GMC Acadia is offered in 6 trim levels: SL, SLE, SLE1, SLE2, SLT1, SLT2.

Here's the short version:

• SL: This is the entry point, and it gives you the basics plus a surprisingly modern tech setup, including a 7-inch touchscreen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. It’s the least expensive way in, but you’re locked into the four-cylinder engine and front-wheel drive.
• SLE: This trim is the key step up if you want all-wheel drive and access to the V6, which makes it the best-value choice for many shoppers. It opens the door to the stronger powertrain without forcing you deep into the lineup.
• SLE1: This version adds LED running lights and satellite radio, so it’s a modest upgrade if you want a little more polish without jumping too far in price.
• SLE2: This is the more appealing comfort-focused step, with 18-inch alloys, heated power front seats, a power liftgate, fog lights, roof rails, remote start, and standard second-row captain’s chairs. It’s a strong pick if you want family convenience and easier third-row access.
• SLT1: This trim brings leather upholstery, upgraded front seats with power lumbar support, an upgraded driver display, a Bose stereo, and the Driver Alert I safety package. It’s a well-rounded choice if you want a more premium feel without going all the way to Denali.
• SLT2: This is the most feature-rich mainstream trim, adding 20-inch wheels, a trailering package, heated second-row seats, lane-keep assist, auto high beams, front parking sensors, and low-speed forward-collision warning with auto braking. It suits you best if you want the most advanced safety and convenience features short of luxury trim.

The safety package availability matters here: Driver Alert I appears on SLT1, Driver Alert II on SLT2, and adaptive cruise with full-speed auto braking is reserved for Denali.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 GMC Acadia?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully and compare listings.

• Deal availability: 34.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,783 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.09% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 61.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $15,394, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 GMC Acadia's resale value?

The current average of $15,398 sits slightly below last year's $17,318.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the Acadia more attractive to buyers today but less favorable for sellers trying to maximize return. If you’re planning to own one for a while, the softer pricing may help you buy at a better entry point, but it also means you should expect resale to reflect the same market pressure later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.79/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2018 GMC Acadia safe?

The Acadia earns five-star ratings in frontal collision tests and four-star ratings in all other NHTSA tests. It was also named a Top Safety Pick by IIHS when equipped with the Driver Alert II package.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The Driver Alert I package adds blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking sensors. Driver Alert II adds lane-keep assist, auto high beams, front parking sensors, and low-speed forward-collision warning with auto braking.

A key caveat is that the strongest safety setup is not standard across the lineup, so you need to verify which package a used example has before you buy.

Should I buy a 2018 GMC Acadia or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 34.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 61.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.09% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.79/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The V6 is now available on more trims, giving you better towing and everyday drivability.

Consider the 2017 if:

• At $13,110, the 2017 costs less than the current year's $15,398 average.
• It’s the redesigned, lighter Acadia with a more modern feel.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $17,175, the 2019 costs more than the current year's $15,398 average.
• It feels more upscale and distinctive than many rivals.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, features, and V6 availability, the 2018 is the primary year to target. If you’re especially price-sensitive, the 2017 can save you money, while the 2019 makes sense if you want a more upscale feel and are willing to pay more.
