How much does the 2017 Hyundai Tucson cost?

Prices have softened 1.86% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,169 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2017 Hyundai Tucson a good car?

Yes — the 4.56/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise the Tucson’s spacious interior, smooth and quiet ride, and useful features like heated seats and a moonroof, while also noting good handling. That lines up well with its value-focused, comfort-first role as a compact SUV for everyday use. With 35.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive price.

Is the 2017 Hyundai Tucson reliable?

Owners rate it 4.56/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a generally trouble-free, dependable ownership experience for many drivers, with the Tucson’s value story helped by its reputation for being relatively trouble-free. At the same time, some owners did raise reliability concerns, so your long-term risk depends heavily on the specific vehicle’s history and maintenance.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Hyundai Tucson?

At 61.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection if the listing has any accident or repair history. Focus on overall condition, service records, and signs of uneven wear so you can separate a clean, well-kept Tucson from one that may have hidden issues.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Hyundai Tucson?

This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 35.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,169 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.86% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 61.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $12,272, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Hyundai Tucson's resale value?

The current average of $12,539 sits slightly below last year's $12,777.

That modest decline suggests the Tucson is holding value reasonably well, but not aggressively appreciating. If you plan to sell later, the current pricing trend means your return will depend more on condition, mileage, and documentation than on market momentum alone. A clean history and strong maintenance records should matter a lot when it comes time to attract buyers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.56/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Hyundai Tucson or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 35.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 61.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.86% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.56/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $11,302, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $12,539 average.
• It offers a redesigned cabin with strong practicality and safety appeal.

The bottom line: If you want the better-equipped, more modern-feeling Tucson, the 2017 is the stronger all-around pick. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2016 is the smarter value play, especially if you find one with a clean history and solid maintenance records.
