Is the 2016 Nissan Rogue a good car?

Yes — the 2016 Nissan Rogue earns a 4.75/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Is the 2016 Nissan Rogue reliable?

Owners rate it 4.75/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback highlights a dependable-feeling package with comfort, value, and a smooth ride that many drivers can count on day to day. The same feedback also points to a few recurring annoyances, including some complicated electronics, so used buyers should pay close attention to how the vehicle has aged in real-world use. For long-term ownership, the biggest risk is making sure the drivetrain and overall condition have been maintained carefully.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Nissan Rogue?

At 54.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection from a trusted mechanic. Focus on overall condition, signs of prior body repair, and whether the vehicle has been maintained consistently. Given the Rogue’s used-market profile, it’s worth being especially careful about how the car has been driven and cared for over time.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Nissan Rogue?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,128 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.15% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $10,446, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Nissan Rogue's resale value?

The current average of $10,463 sits slightly below last year's $10,803.

That softer pricing suggests the Rogue is currently in a buyer-friendly phase, which can help you if you plan to sell later only after buying at the right price. If the market stays steady, a well-kept example should remain reasonably competitive, but you should not expect rapid appreciation. Condition and maintenance history will matter a lot when it comes time to resell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Nissan Rogue or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 54.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.15% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $9,505, the 2015 costs less than the current year's $10,463 average.
• It offers a more polished, mature look with broad mainstream appeal.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market balance of price, inventory, and owner satisfaction, the 2016 is the better default choice. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2015 is the more budget-friendly path and still delivers many of the Rogue’s core strengths.
