FAQs
Rolls-Royce’s newest and most powerful hyper-luxury model, the 2015 Wraith, is already astonishingly adorned and receives only minor detail changes for the current year. Most of those fine details are personalization and customization options for this luxury midsize coupe that are available only on a need-to-know basis; unless you're actively in the process of purchasing a Wraith, Rolls feels you don't need to know. But we've managed to scrounge up a few details for you.
All versions get larger rims as new options for this 155-mph, rear-wheel-drive powerhouse, which include 20-inch 7-spoke wheels or 21-inch 7- and 5-spoke bi-color wheels, giving a nudge to its already profound presence. You can never have too many standout features to put your colleagues on notice.
Throw in the new leather trunk lining, and you’ve got a smooth-riding 624-horsepower monolith that even keeps your expensive luggage from getting scuffed. And with a modest 16.6 cubic feet in the rear, you'll have enough room to pack for two. The Wraith is definitively the fastest and most technologically advanced Rolls-Royce ever produced, but it doesn’t fall out of line when it comes to the maker's high design standard.
Power comes at a mighty price, but will not disappoint. The Wraith has a 0-60 time of 4.4 seconds, and its torque is rated at 590 lb-ft at an amazingly low 1,500 rpms, but it's all reigned in for a gentle glide. Technology like the GPS-assisted 8-speed ZF automatic transmission found in many other high-end luxury cars allows ascents and descents to feel almost nonexistent. Unfortunately, having a heavy curb weight of about 5,200 pounds and being a rather large car, the mileage of the Wraith is one of its few drawbacks. A very meager 13 mpg city/21 highway is all the Wraith can muster.
One can see the beauty in the extensive dimensions of the fastback Wraith as providing more room for the second-to-none, awe-inspiring interior. Coming in at a long 208 inches and having a width of 77 inches gives you a lot of internal space. Cue the absolutely astounding interior. All 4 adjustable seats come snugly wrapped in the softest, finest quality leathers with your choice of color options as far as the imagination can stretch, and Canadel exotic wood-grain finished door panels hug the unique, suicide-style doors. There is no lack of comfortable space to enjoy your splendor, with 41.5 inches of legroom up front and a bit under 40 for rear-riding entrepreneurs.
Thought of as Rolls-Royce’s “sports” car, the Wraith is a shortened coupe version of its popular Ghost models, and has roots in the BMW 7 Series. With inception only a year ago, a convertible is already in line for the Wraith as soon as next year, but don’t expect any diminishing of ride quality. Not even the bumpiest of thoroughfares will disturb your passengers’ view of the optional Starlight Headliner, mimicking the night sky on the inside roof.
Despite its heft and yacht-like handling on demanding roadways, the Wraith most certainly raises the standard for Rolls-Royce. No detail, no matter how small, is overlooked, and although easily outmaneuvered by its number-one competitor, the Bentley GT Sport, the Wraith’s strength comes from its unprecedented and unmatched build quality. Equally breathtaking is the almost flight-like ride feel and the swiftness of its power delivery. Wrap all these up in an exclusive, striking package and you begin to see the enigma that is a Rolls-Royce. And now with even further personalization available, you can be sure your Wraith is like no other.
