How much does the 2015 Honda Pilot cost?

Prices have softened 3.79% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,479 listings available, which suggests you have a decent amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2015 Honda Pilot a good car?

Yes — the 2015 Honda Pilot earns a 4.83/5 user rating and a 6/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Performance and Cost effectiveness.

Owners consistently praise the spacious interior, smooth ride, and family-friendly practicality. The Pilot’s roomy cabin and three-row layout make it especially appealing if you need to move people and cargo, while the overall package still feels useful even if the design is aging.

That said, the same owner feedback also points to concerns about fuel economy and engine power, so your satisfaction will depend on whether space and comfort matter more than efficiency or punch. With 33.7% of listings priced as good or great deals, there are still attractive opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2015 Honda Pilot reliable?

Owners rate it 4.83/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback also points to reliability and dependability themes, with shoppers describing the Pilot as a vehicle they can count on for family duty. The expert evaluation adds that Honda included roadside assistance for the first 3 years or 36,000 miles, which helps ownership confidence early on.

At the same time, the expert assessment notes average reliability and dependability expectations, so you should still plan for normal used-car wear and verify maintenance history before buying.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Honda Pilot?

At 57.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. A pre-purchase inspection matters here, especially if you’re comparing multiple listings with similar prices, because condition can vary a lot in the used market.

Focus on signs of crash repair, uneven panel gaps, tire wear, and any evidence that safety systems or electronics were affected. Since this model year is also known for dated infotainment and safety tech, make sure the features you want are actually present on the specific vehicle you’re considering.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Touring trim adds Bluetooth, satellite radio, a hard-drive music-storage system, and a rear-seat DVD entertainment system, while the EX, SE, and EX-L are called out as having better-looking wheels than Touring. If you want the most family-friendly equipment, Touring is the most feature-rich choice mentioned here.
• Powertrain: The Pilot uses a 3.5-liter V6 with 250 hp and 253 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 5-speed automatic. It also uses Variable Cylinder Management to help reduce fuel use, and available 4-wheel drive adds traction support when needed.
• Safety package: The Pilot lacks several newer driver-assistance features, including blind-spot monitoring, forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, and rear cross-traffic alert. That makes feature content a weak point, especially if you want modern active safety tech.
• Infotainment: Touring includes Bluetooth, satellite radio, a hard-drive music-storage system, rear-seat DVD entertainment, a 115-volt power outlet, and video input jacks. The model does not offer smartphone connectivity, mobile-app services, or keyless push-button start.
• Fuel efficiency: The expert test drive returned 18.3 mpg in mixed driving, below the EPA’s 20-mpg combined rating.

Which 2015 Honda Pilot trim should I buy?

The 2015 Honda Pilot is offered in 4 trim levels: EX, SE, EX-L, Touring.

Here's the short version:

• EX: This is the trim to consider if you want the Pilot’s core family-hauling usefulness without chasing extra equipment. It’s one of the trims specifically called out as having better-looking wheels than Touring, and it should suit you if value matters most.
• SE: The SE sits alongside the EX and EX-L in the trim discussion, and it’s another step that keeps the Pilot’s practical character intact. Choose it if you want a straightforward family SUV with a little more presence than the most basic setup.
• EX-L: The EX-L is part of the group noted for better-looking wheels than Touring, and it should appeal if you want a more polished feel without jumping all the way to the top trim.
• Touring: Touring is the most feature-rich version mentioned, with Bluetooth, satellite radio, a hard-drive music-storage system, and a rear-seat DVD entertainment system. It’s the best fit if you want the most comfort and entertainment equipment in this lineup.

The safety content also makes clear that the Pilot lacks several modern driver-assistance features, so even higher trims do not fully solve the model’s safety-tech gap.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Honda Pilot?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 33.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,479 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.79% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 57.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $11,554, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Honda Pilot's resale value?

The current average of $11,818 sits slightly below last year's $12,283.

That softer pricing suggests the Pilot has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price. If you purchase near the lower end of the range, you may have a better chance of limiting your loss later.

The model’s appeal as a roomy family vehicle should help keep demand steady among shoppers who prioritize space and practicality. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.83/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Honda Pilot safe?

The 2015 Honda Pilot earns a Poor rating in the IIHS small overlap front test and four-star overall crash protection from NHTSA.

It earns a 3/10 safety score from our experts.

The safety picture is mixed beyond that. The Pilot receives the highest IIHS rating of Good in all other crash tests, but it lacks several modern active-safety features, including adaptive cruise control, collision warning, lane-departure warning, and blind-spot monitoring. That missing equipment is a meaningful drawback if safety tech is a priority for you.

Should I buy a 2015 Honda Pilot or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 33.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 57.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.79% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.83/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2015 stands out as a roomy, practical family SUV, but its dated safety and infotainment tech are the tradeoff.

Consider the 2014 if:

• At $10,746, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $11,818 average.
• It emphasizes practicality and value for buyers who need space on a tighter budget.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $14,837, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $11,818 average.
• It brings a redesigned package with newer safety and infotainment technology.

The bottom line: If you want the best value, the 2015 makes sense when you can find a clean example with the features you need at a discounted price. If your budget is tighter, the 2014 is the cheaper path; if you want newer tech and can spend more, the 2016 is the better long-term choice.
