Summary
With 338 currently listed for sale and an average price of $6,376.00, 29.0% of 2014 Ford Fiestas for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2014 Ford Fiesta 4.33 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 7.67 / 10.

Why it stands out
The 2014 Ford Fiesta stands out as a subcompact that tries to be more appealing than merely practical. Its mid-life refresh gave it standout looks, and that matters because the design helps draw attention to what the car offers: a well-equipped interior with artful styling and entertainment technology. It is also described as a car that can make city-car ownership feel more desirable, especially for buyers who want something small without giving up a sense of personality.
Behind the styling, the Fiesta has a composed road feel in both city and highway driving, with little body roll. It can also be a lot of fun if you know how to use a manual transmission well. That combination of agility and driver involvement gives it a character that many small cars lack. At the same time, the appeal is not just about driving enjoyment; the cabin equipment and overall presentation help make it feel like a sensible hatch that still has some style.
Owners also praise the 2014 Ford Fiesta for its cute design, fuel efficiency, and fun driving experience, along with features such as backup cameras and heated seats. It is often seen as a good value for a compact car. The main caution is that some owners have raised concerns about engine reliability, including head gasket issues, which is an important drawback to keep in mind.

The Ford fiesta is a very good fit for me as I went from a V8 to a four-cylinder car so far $36 fills up my gas tank, which is great. Last me about two weeks The car, roomie, luxurious, and very reliable.

I really appreciate the compact design of the Ford Fiesta. Its over twenty miles per gallon which is actually pretty fuel efficient. Its got everything it needs for a smooth and comfortable ride. Id say its like the little brother of the Ford Focus but its also the cousin of both Mustang and Ford Shogun

I think this is a great car for the features that it brings. This car is small on the outside but very spacious inside. Plenty of bells and whistles come with the Titanium version. I personally like the backup camera, heated seats, and sun roof that the car comes with.

Is the 2014 Ford Fiesta a good car?
Generally — the 2014 Ford Fiesta earns 4.33/5 from owners and 7.67/10 from our experts. The model scores 9/10 across Cost effectiveness and Technology.
Owners consistently praise its cute design, fuel efficiency, and fun driving experience, along with features like backup cameras and heated seats. The overview also points to a small car that feels more desirable than purely practical, with a well-equipped interior and strong city-car personality.
That makes it a good fit if you want a subcompact that feels stylish and entertaining rather than basic. The market also shows 31.1% good or great deals, which suggests there are still some attractive opportunities if you shop carefully.
Is the 2014 Ford Fiesta reliable?
Owners rate it 4.33/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback also points to a car that many drivers find dependable and good value over time, especially when you factor in its fuel efficiency and everyday usability. On the expert side, the Fiesta is described as a rewarding daily driver that delivers a lot of goodies for short money, which supports the case for it as a practical long-term choice.
If you buy used, the main ownership risk is the engine-reliability concern raised by some owners, so a careful pre-purchase inspection matters.
What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Ford Fiesta?
At 68% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a hands-on inspection of bodywork, alignment, and any signs of prior repair. Because this is a small car with a lot of tech and trim variation, condition matters as much as mileage. Focus especially on how the car drives, how the electronics behave, and whether the maintenance record supports the asking price.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The base S trim comes with Ford’s Sync multimedia system, an auxiliary audio input jack, and a multifunction message center with an LCD information screen, while the SE adds cruise control, a trip computer, 7-color ambient lighting, and MyKey. The Titanium trim adds a backup camera, reverse-sensing system, and push-button start.
- Powertrain: All trims use a 1.6-liter inline 4-cylinder engine with 120 horsepower and 112 pound-feet of torque. The standard 5-speed manual is the recommended transmission, while a 6-speed automatic is available; a 1.0-liter turbocharged engine is also mentioned as coming to SE trims and can deliver as much as 35 mpg on the highway.
- Safety package: The Fiesta includes dual-stage first-row airbags, driver's knee airbags, side impact airbags, side curtain airbags, traction control, stability control, improved side-impact structures, and a tire pressure monitoring system. Crash testing shows 4 stars overall, with 5 stars for the driver in a frontal crash, 4 stars for the front passenger in the same test, 4 stars for front-row side impact, and 5 stars for second-row side impact.
- Infotainment: Ford Sync comes standard, including MyFordTouch touchscreen software. The system uses a touchscreen layout that can be awkward to operate, but it does handle phone pairing and music integration well.
- Fuel efficiency: The 5-speed manual is rated at 27 mpg city and 38 highway, while the 6-speed automatic is listed at 29 city and 39 highway. The 1.0-liter turbocharged engine can deliver as much as 35 mpg on the highway.
Which 2014 Ford Fiesta trim should I buy?
The 2014 Ford Fiesta is offered in 3 trim levels: S, SE, Titanium.
Here's the short version:
- Base trim: The S trim is the most basic version, so you miss out on the added convenience and driver-assist features found higher up the range.
- Sweet-spot trim: The SE is the best middle-ground choice because it adds cruise control, a trip computer, ambient lighting, and MyKey without jumping all the way to the top trim.
- Premium/top trim: The Titanium is the most appealing if you want the most convenience features, including a backup camera, reverse-sensing system, and push-button start.
The safety package is standard across the lineup, but the higher trims add useful everyday features that make the car easier to live with.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Ford Fiesta?
This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it rewards comparison shopping more than impulse buying.
- Deal availability: 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 331 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 8.89% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 68.0% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $6,350.62, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2014 Ford Fiesta's resale value?
The current average of $6,346 sits slightly below last year's $6,965.
That softer pricing can work in your favor if you're buying now, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive resale environment. If you plan to own the car for a while, the current market suggests you should buy carefully and avoid overpaying up front. A well-kept example with strong equipment and clean history should still be easier to move later than a rough one.
Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.33/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2014 Ford Fiesta safe?
The Fiesta earned 4 stars out of 5 as an overall score from NHTSA.
It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.
Standard safety equipment includes dual-stage first-row airbags, driver's knee airbags, side impact airbags, side curtain airbags, traction control, stability control, improved side-impact structures, and a tire pressure monitoring system. The crash-test results are respectable for the class, but the 4-star overall score and the 4-star front-passenger frontal result are worth keeping in mind if safety is a top priority.
Should I buy a 2014 Ford Fiesta or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2014 if:
- 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 68% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 8.89% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.33/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
- The 2014 refresh gives the Fiesta standout looks and a well-equipped interior with strong entertainment tech.
Consider the 2015 if:
- At $6,735, the 2015 costs more than the current year's $6,346 average.
- It adds a trapezoidal grille, revised rear fascia, and an EcoBoost model.
The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2014 is the smarter buy because it combines lower pricing with strong owner satisfaction and appealing equipment. If you can spend more and want a slightly newer look with added choice, the 2015 is the better alternative for price-insensitive buyers.
