Saturn makes no major changes to the Outlook family-oriented SUV for 2010, but introduces a new Outlook XV trim. In addition, the automaker adds a new Preferred trim level to the Outlook XE and a Premium trim level to the mid-range Outlook XR, bringing the total number of Outlook trims to nine. The XE, XE Preferred, XR, and XR Premium trims are available in front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations. The new XV trim comes only in a front-wheel-drive configuration. Minor upgrades for 2010 include a USB port, which Saturn adds to the audio systems of the XE Preferred, XR, and XR Premium trims. The optional equipment list now includes XM NavTraffic and an inside rear-view mirror with a video screen for the optional rear-view camera. In addition, Saturn offers a new Sandstone exterior color for all trims. The Outlook seats up to eight passengers in three rows of seats, and offers class-leading cargo space, with nearly 116 cubic feet of space available with the second and third rows folded flat, and 24.1 cubic feet of cargo space with the third row of seats up and in place. In addition, a low step-in height and the second row's SmartSlide feature, which enables the second-row seats to easily slide forward, make the third row and cargo space easily accessible. A 3.6-liter, double-overhead-cam V6 engine with direct fuel injection powers all Outlook trims. In the XV, XE, and XE Preferred trims, the V6 produces 281 hp and 266 lb-ft of torque. For the XR and XR Premium trims, those numbers rise to 288 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque, thanks to dual exhaust pipes, which boost performance slightly. In all trims, the V6 links to a six-speed automatic transmission with a manual shift mode. Fuel economy numbers for the Outlook check in at 17/22 mpg for the front-wheel-drive trims and 16/21 for the all-wheel-drive trims. The Outlook's interior emphasizes practicality and roominess over sportiness. Standard features include front bucket seats, front and rear air conditioning, cruise control, power windows and door locks, OnStar, and an AM/FM audio system with an MP3 input jack and XM satellite radio. The XR trims add such features as leather upholstery, heated front seats, driver lumbar support, Bluetooth wireless connectivity, a trip computer, a power-adjustable driver's seat, and dual-zone air conditioning. Remote keyless entry and a rear spoiler also come standard on all trims, while the XR trims receive foglights and heated exterior mirrors. Standard safety features include four-wheel antilock brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution, a traction control system, and GM's StabiliTrak electronic stability control system. Dual front airbags and side curtain airbags for all three rows also come standard. Owners can add a rear parking assist system as an option.
