Hyundai enters the world of the larger CUV with its biggest vehicle to date: the all new 2007 Hyundai Veracruz. With seating for 7 adults, the 2007 Hyundai Veracruz can compete with vehicles like the Honda Pilot and the Toyota Highlander. The 3.8-liter V6 engine is the same one used in the Azera, and provides 260hp, plenty of power for anyone. And the 6 speed automatic transmission with a manual shifter gives you the best of both worlds: ease and control. The impressive power train and excellent transmission should combine for about 25 miles per gallon, or so Hyundai claims, quite good for a vehicle of this size.
The interior of the 2007 Hyundai Veracruz was well-planned. First of all, designers went out of their way to reduce noise, lining the car with acoustic noise dampeners, a steel plate between the engine and the cab, and four layers of carpet. Among the usual features you would expect to find in a luxury SUV, like air conditioning and power windows and locks and an excellent sound system, the 2007 Hyundai Veracruz has a fold-away third row that is easy for anyone to access, with the second row able to slide forward. Leather, heated seats are available, as is a reverse warning system. Even storage space was considered. Despite being almost 10 inches shorter than the Mercedes-Benz GL, it somehow has more cargo space. Safety was another aspect of the Veracruz that Hyundai designers took very seriously. 6 airbags fill the entire cabin, all the way to the third row. An electronic brake-assist is available, as is Electronic stability control. The crumble zones were carefully constructed, as were the body's steel rails. This should be an excellent addition to the Hyundai family, tapping into a market that was previously untouched by this up-and-coming car company.
