The XE is the base model and available only with the King Cab and comes standard with a 2.5-liter, 154-horsepower four-cylinder engine and is available only in 2WD. The SE, LE, and Nismo come with a 4.0-liter, 256-horsepower V6 and are all available with 2WD or 4WD. The SE, LE, and Nismo are available as a King Cab or Crew Cab. The smaller engine gets about 18/24 mpg, while the V6 gets 15/20 mpg. Drivers rate the 2006 Frontier high for its good looks, powerful V6, and comfortable ride. Some owners complain of its large turning radius.

The one I drove had a special ordered stick shift. Amazing performance probably much faster than any truck needs to be. Great offroad and has good visibility for a truck. Reliable and has many cool features.

Best pickup in it's class! This truck is a great overall mid-size truck. If you want a nice looking, good performing, solid truck for work or for yourself, and you don't want to spend over 20K on a new car, then this truck's for you. I have one in black which I got for 18K. Lots of hp for the size of the truck. The interior could be a little more comfy- neoprene is a bit scratchy. Rockford fosgate system with sub is amazing, and bed system/ bed extender is a must.

This truck is good in every aspect; from driving in town to off-roading. I had absolutely no trouble off road in this truck. I would definitely buy this truck again and I would always recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable, comfortable truck.

I liked the reliability, strength, speed and handling of the truck. Very easy, comfortable truck to drive with very good four wheel drive. The only thing i wish is that the box on the truck was bigger for more storage.
