Overview
The 2000 Ford F-150 remained atop the US market for another blockbuster year. Buyers of the 2000 Ford F150 had their choice of XL, XLT, and Lariat trims, with extended-cab supercab and standard cab 2-door and 4-door setups. Short-bed, long-bed, and stepside variations added to the range of options.
Engine offerings included a 4.2 liter Essex V6 and a Triton V8 in 4.6 liter and 5.4 liter; the 2000 Ford SVT Lightning sport pickup, based on the 2000 Ford F-150, came with a supercharged 5.4 liter Triton V8 with an awesome 360 horsepower capacity.
Safety features like a driver's side airbag and automatic locking hubs drew buyers looking for a solid pickup with style. You'll find plenty of these rugged, durable trucks on the road today, working hard on ranch and farm or going off-road for four-wheel-drive fun.

A great truck to have. Plenty of room for an average family. Great for hauling, moving or for taking trips. Excellent for camping. Had a five speed standard transmission which made it good on gas mileage. One of the best vehicles I have ever owned.

A true do it all vehicle. I take this over other vehicles when I have choice because of the comfort. When I have a job hauling or pulling this truck gets the nod every time. Very smooth power range and shifting.

It's a good truck that wasn't too expensive to purchase originally. I needed it to pull my boat and occasionally move things around. It's not flashy, no frills, pretty plain but not ugly. It has run pretty well since 2005.

Not the best performance truck. It only has a 4.2L V6 but the K&N filter does help. It is very solid and well engineered. I think these trucks can look awesome if done the right way. Since it's an XL, the interior is very basic; rubber flooring, no power locks or windows. Gets around 14mpg city, 25mpg highway. This truck only has 68,000 miles so mechanically it is in great shape and has not needed any severe maintenance. Stick is awesome to drive.
